Moringa(Drumstick) is very known in every household in India because of its unmatched health benefits. But I did not knew about this recipe about a fry using its leaves, until someone suggested this to try out. We used to have a fry of different kind, taking out all leaves from the branch and then making a fry, but this form was completely new and so tasty. Usually the kids do not like to eat these vegan food, unless they are tasty and I think, this is a brilliant recipe for kids - the just loved it.

If you do not know about Moringa(Drumstick), then just do a google search. You will be surprised to know the health benefits it offers - Vitamins A,C,E, beta-carotene, iron, potassium, calcium, antioxidants...It's a must to have vegan food and more ever, it is fully organic, because, no one puts any supplements for the tree, it just grows on its own. And they also do not need lot of watering as well, so once it grows , you can enjoy all its byproduct. And not only that, now a days Moringa leaves powder is also available in market which is ready to consume. But if you have it nearby , its best to use it fresh.

The recipe is also not very hard. Almost similar to the Malabar spinach Fry, about which I shared this post some times back, only a little bit difference in ingredients. Soak 100 gm of rice in warm water for 1 hour, grind it with garlic cloves and mustard, add turmeric powder, hing (asafoetida), Gram flour and salt as per your taste and the batter is ready. Now take 2-3 branches and collectively put in the batter and fry on a pan. Use regular oil or mustard oil, if you get.

Does this look tasty and delicious ? The kids just waited for the next bunch of fry, and was asking for more and more. One thing to note, when you eat, then just hold those branches and then the leafy parts will automatically make their way 😀. We also combined with some Malabar spinach Fry and also the drumstick potato fry - one of my favorite as well.
