The impact of eating shows (mukbang) is huge. I don't know if you are familiar with these types of shows. But it's very popular among the young generation. Or maybe I should say as a whole. Otherwise, it wouldn't be possible for thousands of shows to have millions and millions of views.
Seeing people eat a huge amount of food, bizarre food, local food, indigenous or uncommon food is lucrative. Seeing others eating helps to release some hormones and saliva that creates a comfortable/happy feeling in our brain.
But is that all?
Is there any negative impact of these types of shows?
Should we continue doing this? Or should it be stopped.
I may not give you all the answers. But I can tell you what I feel. If only a single person understands and steps back from such a show, I will be honored.
Yes, you can say it self-employed thousands of people around the world. But still, it makes a huge negative impact on his viewers. People earn millions of dollars from the mukbang show on YouTube. They are earning because you are watching them.
As per I understand...
The amount of food waste and sometimes torture on the food/animals never can be good.
Also, they give the wrong vibe/message. Like table manners.
There's no happy meal on this, most of them are like forceful eating which is opposite to general food consumption manner.
From what I understand, Humans don't need that much amount of food to survive.
I'm not saying that you should cancel them. It's up to you actually if you enjoy watching any eating show.
We should not devote ourselves to means of food, food should be treated as a means of survival. Yes, there is nothing wrong if you enjoy easily shows but this should not be your sole devotion. It's huge destruction from self-development from our self-development as a human and from surely spiritual growth.
