SLEEP/SLEEPING AS A NATURAL MEDICINE.

Another natural medicine given to us freely is 'sleep'. While everyone thinks sleeping is just a natural phenomenon that occurs, it goes beyond that, for me sleep/sleeping itself is a 'medicine'. Have you ever wondered after you are being administered drug, you're always asked to rest well so that the drugs could work faster. Personally i don't really fancy taking industrial drugs, herbs preferably but there are times i always get my healings from sleeping, having stressed out, or a feel of headache i don't take panadol or a pain relievers instead i take my time to rest well and get my strength back.

  • it is said that most adults need 7-9 sleep everyday and older adults requires 7-8 hour sleep everyday but that seems difficult to come by these days, people hustle won't allow that, some jobs paid per hour, meaning you get paid of the hours you worked, bills must be paid, that luxury dreams must be fulfilled. Where places like Nigeria for example you are still on the as at 10:00/11:00pm when you are supposed to be sleeping and by 4:00/5:00am you are already out for the daily hustle.
  • I think this is one of the reasons there are increased number of diseases like high blood pressure and hypertension.

  • Sleep is a very important parts of everyone overall health and wellness. There is a difference between a good sleep and just a sleep, getting a good sleep help the body to repair and ready for another days job.
  • infact having a good sleep put the body,soul and mind in a perfect shape, its always give a new beginning to the body and necessary strength needed to carry on for that day,
    Sometimes i feel bothered about things, and constantly having thoughts of that thing but i don't embrace a sleepless night. Which everyone should also embrace, dont go to bed late and don't give yourself a sleepless nights, there are some organs that need to rest as well, as you resting they are also resting.

there are numerous health benefits of sleeping, and the importance cannot be overemphasized


  • having a good sleep helps build strong immune system; you ever wondered after waking up, you feel so strong its because while you are asleep, all the immune system are getting their rest too helping to helping to fight all sorts of infections.

  • it helps improve memory, are you having problem remembering a particular thing, or where you have kept those things, don't worry just go to sleep, when you wake up you have your memory back.

Another thing, it makes you concentrate and help increased your productivity at anything you do, if you sleep properly,
As a student do you know you also need to sleep for you to assimilate everything you are being thought or read?

It reduces all sort of heart diseases or depression and put you in a better mood.


  • however there are ways at which one can have a better and quality sleep, because there are times i slept all day & night and still felt weak like i dont sleep at all

Avoiding stress, its not always good going to bed while you are totally stressed, you can reduce the stress by engaging in some exercise or therapy.

Its not also advisable to sleep with sleeping pills, one can involve in some natural herbs that enhances good sleep.
