Mythology of Signs and Planets: Aquarius and Uranus + The September New Moon

Greetings, everyone! Welcome to another edition of The Orrery! We're almost done with this series about the mythological origins of the constellations and regents of the Natal Chart, this week I'll discuss Aquarius, the Eleventh House and Uranus, which are essential in my own Chart.

The Cup-Bearer and Consciousness

Aquarius is the last Air Sign of the Zodiac and it's related with many myths, most prominently that of Ganymede, a boy of exceeding beauty who was kidnapped and taken to Mount Olympus, either by Zeus or by Eos, the Goddess of Dawn. In both cases, Zeus takes him as his lover and installs him as Cup-bearer of the Gods, charged with pouring ambrosia, the food and drink of the deities which granted immortality to anyone who consumed it. The Sign is also an expression of Deucalion, son of Prometheus, who built a vessel to escape from a flood much like Noah in Christianity. In Babylonian myths, it represents Enki, God of Water and greatest of all deities. To the Egyptians it signified the flooding of the Nile.

Aquarius, the Eleventh House and Uranus relate to Interconnectedness, the Future, Friendship, Universal Awareness, Collectivity, Humanity, Technology, Science, Intellect, Freedom and Change. These energies are extremely important at the moment as we've just entered the Age of Aquarius. The paradigm we've been living in until now is fixed, vertical and hierarchical, but a new paradigm is rising where horizontal connections, networks and communities take far greater precedence. The Internet and particularly a platform like Hive, are quite Aquarian and Uranian in nature. Uranus is the Planet of the Heavens, it rules over sudden changes, electricity and light, limitlessness and the higher realms of awareness. We have its influence to thank for the natural disasters that we're seeing now, mass migrations, the resurgence of Space Exploration, advancement in quantum computing and other disruptive, innovative phenomena; also, the symbolism of Astrology, Tarot and mystical traditions is Uranian by default. Uranus is the Logos, the source of all ideas and images, and of Consciousness itself.

People with strong Aquarius, Eleventh House or Uranus placements tend to be innovative, free thinkers, unpredictable and smart. In shadow, this energy can be expressed in lack of attention and discipline, unnerving strangeness and dispersion. Once integrated, it provides enormous adaptability, foresight, ease of learning and uncanny visions of possibility.

This is the Chart of the New Moon in Virgo extracted from Astroseek.com that will take place on September 6th-7th depending on your location. The time of global vulnerability brought about during the last Full Moon in Aquarius is only expanding. Remember what I told you last time about the Great Collapse and the things we'll have to witness? Well, this New Moon and all the energies that you see arrayed in that image will boost this process.

There are many concerns that we're being prompted to tend to, namely physical and mental health, our routines and the organization of our living and work spaces. As more conflict and natural disasters force people out of their homes and across borders in migration phenomena that will only increase in coming years, we're all compelled to ask ourselves what we're truly here for. Is it to cower from diseases and challenges? Is it to exist in fear for our survival? Or is it to break boundaries, build something worthwhile and remake our world?

See that Square between Pluto and Venus, and the Trian between Pluto and Mars? They represent processes of intense revision about the principles of our personal and collective reality, the intention and drive to protect others and face the terrors of the Night with bravery. This is related to our Service, the task that we must fulfill with our time and resources to the benefit of others. If you don't know what you're supposed to be serving for, it's an appropriate time to meditate on that. The opposition of Sun, Moon and Mars with Neptune is the axis of emotional connection among all of us, so meditating on our Service will also require recognizing not just our own needs but the needs of others, needs we may be able to provide for. The deeper we delve into ourselves, the deeper we'll empathize with the entire world.

However, the most important aspect in that Chart to me is the Conjunction between Lilith (the Hidden Truth) with the North Node (the Destiny of Humanity,) forming a Great Triangle of Air with Mercury in Libra (Fair Communication) and Saturn in Aquarius (The Shift of the Establishment and Tradition.) Lilith and the North Node are collectively bringing us information vital for our species' evolution, but it's veiled by Night, preconceptions and inhibitions. As Pluto continues to its quest of revealing the System's corruption and darkness, we have to ask serious questions about issues of intimate importance, issues that we've decided to sweep aside or whose significance we've ignored. This is all connected to what I've discussing in other posts regarding the terrible happenings and discoveries that we'll make in these periods.

Be true and increase your effectiveness. The times we're in demand it!
