Wednesday Wonder - with Pasta and a Rambo Update

When this greets me in the morning, I know it's going to be an ok day: the morning sun on the autumn vine. This is again my morning bath view, and the photo does neither the colour nor the glow, justice.

And, yes, it heralded a day that was good. Not the best, not the worst, but good.

One of the things that's been bothering us, is dealing with Rambo's health, and particularly the probably significant parasite load. Yesterday was D-day. He's comfortable enough with being tickled and rubbed. We still haven't attempted a "pick-up". Nor is either of us brave enough to hold him down to administer a tablet, so thankfully, there is a single dose topical treatment.

It was administered so quickly, I am not sure who was more surprised: Rambo or The Cat's Mother.

Clearly he wasn't phased. We hope that this will also help the distended belly and the not-quite-so-voracious appetite.

Simple is good

Remember these? Sometimes simple is just the best.

Last night's pasta was tomato. The sauce made with these homemade bottled tomatoes, two bay leaves and three cloves of garlic, in a wok and reduced to a sauce. All ingredients grown or produced @ The Sandbag House. I still get such a kick from that...

Because I had a little double cream yoghurt, I added that along with fresh oreganum at the end.

The pasta was served with grated Boerenkaas (18 month mature Gouda).

PS: Without the cheese and yoghurt, it's vegan...

Comfort food and a contented cat. Not much to complain about.

Until next time, be well
