Fertilizer to your plants made of organic waste (2/2) (ENG/ES) - Fertilizante para tus plantas de desechos orgánicos.

This is the second fertilizer I make out of organic waste, and is made from a fruit that i consume a lot because I love it, the banana, and is particularly good to stimulate plants to begin the flowering process.

Plants need different amounts of various minerals like calcium and nitrogen when they are in their growing stage, and then, once they have reached a point in which they have fully develop, they start to prepare to their reproductive stage, in which they begin to absorb higher amounts of different nutrients like potassium, and iron. This fertilizer that we are going to learn to make today, contains a lot of potassium, and it is because of this that it is ideal to help our plants to generate their flowers properly. I use it on cannabis, but it is actually very effective on any type of flowering plants.

Once you peel the banana skin, do not throw it away, just keep it in the fridge to stop it from rotting. When you have gathered some of them, let's say 4 or 5 units of the banana skin, place it on a pot, fill it with water, put the cover on it, and turn on the stove at low to medium fire. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, and then turn the heat off and let it rest for a couple of hours.

When this mix has cooled down entirely, proceed to strain it and you can save the banana skin for your compost. Dissolve the brew in a 50/50 proportion with water.

As you can see in the picture, I placed it on a recycled jug and filled it half with the brew and half with water, and it is ready to add to the plants.

I would recommend you to use this fertilizer once you see your plants have reached good size and they are ending their growth phase and preparing to develop their flowers, it will help them during this process. Apply it once a week for 3 weeks, and then maybe once or twice per month when flowering.

I will also recommend this to all the cannabis growers in the community, and those who are starting your cultivation.

Thinking about how to manage our waste is crucial to build a better tomorrow, in which we are trying to help our planet to heal. So, make your own compost, fertilize your garden, give back a little bit from the soil that gives us so much, cultivate, and this way maybe we will leave a better planet, with conscience, to the generations to come.
