GrapesZucchini and Cucumbers
  • Chard from the garden, Blackberries from a big bush on the lane just outside my property
  • Apples and pears from the garden, mostly windfall but a few apples picked from the trees. The pears are not quite ripe, but good for cooking in a casserole with other veggies, or for making Perry or Pear vinegar.
  • Grapes overhanging fence of a long abandoned property 5 minutes walk up the lane.
  • Zucchini and Cucumbers from the garden.

Helper Lettuce SeedlingsReplanted Seedlings

Transplanting Lettuce seedling from beds to pots.

I realise this is the opposite way it is usually done, but this growing season (my second) we had a hot spell and my lettuces in the beds were not shaded, so they all bolted.

I cut a few of them down and shook them over the beds in case there were any mature seeds on them, but left most of them in place, and have eaten (in smoothies) some of the remaining leaves, which tend to be bitter. About a week or so ago i noticed hundreds of tiny lettuce seedlings growing in one of the beds and quite a few in other beds. I know lettuces like the cold but i'm not so sure about frost, so i decided to transplant a few into pots and move up onto the balcony for now, ready to move into the balcony greenhouse, then probably into the house as first Jack Frost gets closer (maybe in a month or so). @valera7368 did the initial work filling the pots with some soil and transplanting the seedings, but only four survived. so a couple of days ago i transplanted a load more to replace the dead ones, and it looks like they are all growing well now.

The Chamomile, Ginger, Turmeric, Avacado (initially sprouted from an Avacado pit in a glass of water by @lio.ness, then transplanted to a pot in the greenhouse by me), and what i think is butternut squash (i forgot to label when i dropped a few seeds in the tray a month or so ago), have been in the greenhouse for a while. For sure i will also move the Ginger and Turmeric indoors before first frost.

Food Prep

Smoothie in prep. & SproutsLentil & Limetz "Hummus"

The smoothie contains 2 dates, Chard & some of the Blackberries pictured at top, one banana, cacao, Stevia, Turmeric and black pepper, plus some presoaked hemp protein and a few oats (soaked in my first morning urine for super health benefits). Super nutritious and healing.

The Hummus substitute (i think it's only called Hummus if it contains chick-peas) contains raw sprouted Lentils & Limetz (an ancient grain similar to Spelt), Raw Tahini & peanut butter, ginger, Himalayan salt, apple cider vinegar, Turmeric and Black Pepper.

Mung Bean & Limetz "Hummus" in prep. Both Hummus alternatives together

The second batch of "Hummus" contains sprouted Mung beans & sprouted Limetz, Raw Tahini, Himalayan salt, apple cider vinegar, Cumin, Fennugreek, Ginger and Cinnamon.

The second picture above is of the two types in separate jars ready to store in the fridge (good for a few days), and some of each in a glass ready to serve up for my lunch.

Lunch ready to eat - both types of Raw Sprouted Hummus substitutes served with olives and rice crackers with a small glass of local wine.

I'm eating very well today (wine not advisable, but it was a very small glass) to ensure my toothache / gum infection from a couple of days ago does not return. (see my Healing Toothache Holistically post here: @atma.love/healing-toothache-holistically
