Hola, estimada comunidad de amantes de la música, esta es mi segunda participación en el Festival. Participo en la categoría voz con una canción original titulada “Cuando el Horizonte” que compuse hace tiempo.
Me encontraba en El Hatillo,pueblo que para ese entonces formaba parte del estado Miranda, Venezuela. Allí, en la Casa de Formación de las hermanas Pías Discípulas del Divino Maestro, colaboraba en la pastoral musical y tocaba la guitarra en la Misa dominical de la parroquia Santa Rosalía de Palermo.
Una de las hermanas recibió de improviso el aviso de que iba ser transferida a otra casa, ubicada en un lugar remoto… ¡quince días después! Así que tuvo que “correr” para preparar todo para su partida, por nuestra parte le preparamos una cena de despedida.
Por mi parte, me impresionó mucho la aceptación con que la hermana recibió la noticia de su traslado, con una capacidad de entrega increíble. No puso “peros” ni tuvo quejas. Sentía que Dios la llamaba de esta forma a servir en otro lugar y solo estaba pendiente de hacer Su voluntad. Esto era demasiado hermoso, así que compuse esta canción para ella para quien ir más allá del horizonte que veía, lejos, a una tierra desconocida con otro idioma, otra cultura, otras costumbres, era su forma de entregarse a Dios mediante el servicio a hermanos que aún no conocía.
Quise expresar con el canto que la separación geográfica se volvía nada ya que nos encontraríamos en la comunión de la misma fe y el mismo Señor, el mismo amigo. Trabajé para lograr una melodía que no fuera triste y el resultado me resultó satisfactorio. En la letra final quise subrayar eso, que no importaba la distancia, que seguiríamos unidas y que siempre habría también alegría y la seguridad que da el saberse cuidada en Sus manos.
Enseñé la canción alas otras estudiantes y se la cantamos en la noche de despedida. A ella le gustó mucho.

Hello, dear community of music lovers, this is my second participation in the Festival. I participate in the voice category with an original song entitled “Cuando el Horizonte” that I composed a long time ago.
I was in El Hatillo, a town that at that time was part of the state of Miranda, Venezuela. There, in the House of Formation of the Sisters Pious Disciples of the Divine Master, he collaborated in the musical pastoral and played the guitar at the Sunday Mass of the parish of Palermo's Santa Rosalía .
One of the sisters suddenly received the notice that she was going to be transferred to another house, located in a remote place… fifteen days later! So she had to "run" , "to be in a hurry" to prepare everything for her departure. For our part we prepared a farewell dinner for her.
I was very impressed by the acceptance with which the sister received the news of her transfer, with an incredible capacity for dedication. She did not put “buts” nor did she have any complaints. She felt that God was calling her in this way to serve in another place and she was only pending to do His will. This was too beautiful, so I composed this song for her for whom going beyond the horizon she saw, far away, to an unknown land with another language, another culture, other customs, was her way of giving herself to God by serving her brothers that she didn't know yet.
I wanted to express with the song that the geographical separation became nothing since we would find ourselves in the communion of the same faith and the same Lord, the same Friend. I worked to achieve a melody that was not sad and the result was satisfactory. In the final lyrics I wanted to underline that no matter the distance, we would continue together and that there would always be joy and the security that comes from knowing that we are cared for in His hands.
I taught the song to the other students and we sang it for her on farewell night. She liked it a lot.
