SeaPhotography Contest: Week 198: Pownal Bay

This Week the #seaphotography contest theme is:

"SEA and SUNSETS

This image was taken a few years ago of the golden rays of the setting sun touching the calm waters at Pownal Bay.

I photographed the sunset from the car when coming home from Charlottetown, PEI. The Bay is only a few miles from Charlottetown.

This is an interesting bay and one overcast day when exploring near the shore, I was surprised to see seals in the water.

They were undisturbed by any vehicles on the gravel road that runs close to the water.

I was never close enough to get a good shot of them.

The seals like to gather on a sandbar in the middle of the bay.

These photos are only to show the many seals in the bay.

I’m going to make a trip there again to see if I can get a much better photo and a closeup of the seals.

Also on the shore of the bay, among the dried up seaweed, was a discarded boat and anchor.

Two Plover Birds wading in the shallow water near the shore.

Always amazing treasures of nature to see when exploring along the shore.
