This will rock you.

The Hive price can go up and down like a speedboat on the ocean.

Something was going on at the beach here, as there were blue "Yamaha" flags all over the place.
We chanced upon the event, as we were driving along the sea beach road. I found a parking spot and when I touched my camera it was very excited, as it thought that I was going to take photos of flying birds again. This time round the photos were of a flying boat.

This post is also suitable for the #seaphotography contest #165 hosted by @marc-allaria

So no, we didn't go close and I have my zoom to thank for the 9 photos in here.

Ah! There they were, the racing cars (boats) of the ocean.

I knew that a demonstration of the Yamaha motors was going to take place, as I saw a guy putting his helmet on in the photo above and I set my zoom for it.
So, let's watch one of these speed merchants taking off.

A choppy ocean in a strong wind did not bother these guys.

Almost ready for the lift off.

But of course the co-pilot stood and held the boat steady.

Yep, here we had the pilot starting that special motor.

And like a rocket they took off at full speed.

So fast that within seconds they were out of sight and I could barely see them flying across the ocean here.

A pity about the bad light, but on another clear and sunny day I will get one of these racers on my camera for you.
In a second post I will show you the finer details about one of these boats. All that I can say here is that a very fine balance is at play between the weight of the boat and the power of the motor. That's why they can reach such incredible speeds.
Makes my little canoe look like I am rowing in reverse :)

Guess what? A friend just called to remind me and to wish us on our anniversary today. 19 years ago I was happy and single and my money would jingle.
Now I am just a married old man :D

And That's All Friends!
