Hi everyone!

I just chased the cat off something in the garden and it turned out to be this - I have seen a lot of praying mantis in my time but never saw such a show of colour / obviously this is saved for its most threatening situations when it is under attack - as it was from the cat.

These colours are more striking even than I managed to capture as the area that seems almost black was in fact an incredible iridescent blue. He is looking as fearsome as he can bless him with his front legs stretched wide to be as imposing as possible.

I distracted the cat , I picked him up and he is now relaxing in a bush, poor chap! I feel honoured to have seen a little side of nature not seen before though.
