FIVE-LINED SKINK in the PIT!

Hey there little one!

This was the only species of reptile we found in the root cellar when cleaning out the debris. For amphibians there were multiple species of frogs and salamanders, but for reptiles, only Five-Lined Skinks were found. Many were instantly released out of the pit, but this one we photographed prior to release. It took me 25 years to locate this species back in my native Wisconsin, and let me tell you, they are far more easy to find here in the Ozarks... even on our own land. This one is probably a younger female. Enjoy the photos!
