(D) Diese imposanten Steilklippen gehören zum südwestlichten Punkt Portugals, sowie des europäischen Festlandes. Das steil aus dem wilden Atlantik ragende Cabo de Sâo Vicente, Sagen und Mythen umworben und Schauplatz von etlichen historischen Seeschlachten, habe ich mit meiner Freundin auf unsere Reise der portugiesischen Küste entlang, besucht. Die baumlose, eher niedrig wachsenden und karge Vegetation zeugt vom rauhen Wetter mit starkem Wind Richtung Festland. Doch bei unserem Aufenthalt präsentierte sich das Kapp mit windlosem Traumwetter und stahlblauem, fast wolkenlosem Himmel. Nur hatte leider der westlichste Wurststand Europas gerade Betriebsferien.

(ENG) These imposing cliffs belong to the south-westernmost point of Portugal and mainland Europe. The Cabo de Sâo Vicente, which rises steeply out of the wild Atlantic Ocean, is the subject of legends and myths and the scene of several historical naval battles. The treeless, rather low-growing and sparse vegetation bears witness to the rough weather with strong winds towards the mainland. But during our stay, the Cape presented itself with windless dream weather and steel-blue, almost cloudless skies. Unfortunately, the most westerly sausage stand in Europe was closed for the day.

(ESP) Estos imponentes acantilados pertenecen al punto más suroccidental de Portugal y de la Europa continental. El Cabo de Sâo Vicente, que se eleva abruptamente sobre el salvaje Océano Atlántico, es objeto de leyendas y mitos y escenario de varias batallas navales históricas. La vegetación desarbolada, más bien baja y escasa, es testigo de las inclemencias del tiempo, con fuertes vientos hacia el continente. Pero durante nuestra estancia, el Cabo se presentó con un tiempo de ensueño sin viento y cielos azul acero, casi sin nubes. Por desgracia, el puesto de salchichas más occidental de Europa estaba cerrado ese día.
