Hive Stock Images | Wild Mushrooms Of Scotland: Shrooms, Fly Agarics and Other Fun-Guys

The woods and meadows in Scotland are ideal environments for many different types of mushrooms to grow. The kingdom of Fungi is vast and mysterious: there are edible shrooms and poisonous ones. There are those like the beautiful, fairytale Fly Agaric which is poisonous unless prepared properly, whereupon it turns magical and trippy.

These 21 photos of Funky Fungi Fun Guys are almost all from the year 2021, taken on walks around Eastern Scotland in late Summer. The locations vary from the pot outside the front door in which my Aloe Vera is growing to what I came across in the local woods and hills in/around Edinburgh, and stretch as far as the Angus region of Scotland where not only beef, but all the photos of the Fly Agaric mushrooms in this set come from.

PS. See if you can spot the 'Fun Guy' in amongst the photos. He's around somewhere with a big funky fungi grin on his face. He'll catch your eye if you're lookin' ;).
