Indonesian sweet dessert dish. Salak Seed Compote.

Hello friends who are always loyal to this community. How are you guys? Hope all is well and running smoothly. On this occasion I would like to share a photo of a typical Indonesian food which is often called Kolak Biji Salak. This food is very much found in my area. Usually this food is found in the month of Ramadan. Here are some food photography of the dish.

Salak seed compote is a sweet dessert dish consisting of sweet potato balls topped with palm sugar and coconut milk. The shape of the salak seed is similar to the candil, but there are striking differences. The main ingredient of salak seeds is sweet potato which can be yellow or purple, while candil is made from glutinous rice flour.

Salak seed compote is a traditional snack that is often found in traditional markets. To enjoy this dish, you can combine it with marrow porridge, even banana compote.

Even though the name is kolak seed salak, of course this food is not made from real salak seeds. It is called the zalacca seed because the compote is filled with a round shape like zalacca seeds.

Alright guys, that's about this food and some photography. Hopefully useful and you like it. Thank you for everything. See you in the next post. Greetings from food and photography lovers.
