If you ever happen to try to catch or observe a dragonfly you will notice its behavior of coming back to one spot from time to time again, but usually, they will never stay for a long time on that spot.
And that is the reason they are quite hard to get photos of because some insects might just stay still, but they are not. Unless they are sleeping, then you can get really close to getting as many photos as you like.
This one is the same, it coming back and forth into almost the same place and that is why I manage to get several photos of it before it finally decided to fly away out of my reach.
