How Do You Express Love?

Source

Hello everyone, we are here again with the latest weekly contest by @queercoin with the prompt:

Love - Describe what love is in your own words. How do you express it? How do you know that you are loved?

What does love really mean?

It is not really easy to define what love really mean. This is because most people confuse love with lust, attraction and companionship. Thus said, there is no one definition of love. Love however can be summarily be said to be a strong sense of elation and passionate enthusiasm for someone or something. Love is also emotional. Most often, we fall in love with someone who we feel close to or attracted to.

How can one express love?

Love can be expressed in so many ways. One of it is caring. care is one crucial element of love. When one loves another person, he or she cares for that person. If we really love someone we care for that person; their feelings, their well-being, welfare and all that.

Again, a fundamental component of love is accepting another person's opinions and liking them for who they are on the inside and out.

Other ways to express love includes, giving and receiving gifts, spending quality time with the person you love without a dividend attention, physical touches like kisses, hugs, pecks, holding hands, etc. Appropriate touches convey warmth and safety.

How does one know that he/she is loved?

A person's actions, words, and behavior toward you can all be used to determine whether they are in love with you.

Thus, love is generous. The art of generosity by a person towards another shows that such a person love that other person.

Again, when one loves another, he makes compromises. There is always room to accommodate one's partner’s needs or desires.

When we love, we act respectfully and kindly toward each other. We do not intentionally hurt or denigrate our partners.
