A day at our farm, in Colombia

Living on the farm, one falls into a natural rhythm. This is interrupted, of course, when we lose electricity for an entire day — possibly, due to torrential rains? It is the tropics!

So, we did what we could around the house & tried to open refrigerator as little as possible — eating simple food that did not need to be heated.

When night fell, my ingenious wife came to the rescue, pulling out this flashlight/cap configuration so we could see in the pitch black (as the entire neighborhood was without electricity)

In the morning, when the electricity resumed, we returned to our regular ritual & took a hike to check on our new cows.

Day 3 since these young lady cows have joined our farm & I think they’re beginning to recognize us & feel safer in our company.

We have yet to give them names (until we know their personalities better) but now we know where to find them when we go looking for them (& they are less likely to run away from us).
