We often witness in society that whenever children make mistakes, it is immediately attributed to poor parenting. It's my belief that no parent wishes for their child to go astray or become the cause of their disgrace. Perhaps there are rare parents who take pride in their children's faults and shortcomings. This raises the question: despite the education, upbringing, advice, and countless efforts by parents, how do negative habits transfer to their children? Why do children, as they grow up, adopt bad habits and attitudes? What is the reason behind it? Does society influence their upbringing, or do small inadvertent mistakes by parents eventually lead to significant consequences in the future, with children suffering the consequences due to their parents' neglect?

ہم نے معاشرے میں اکثر یہ دیکھا ہے کہ اگر بچے کہیں پر غلطی کرتے ہیں تو فوراً یہ کہہ دیا جاتا ہے کہ والدین نے تربیت ٹھیک نہیں کی. میرا یہ ماننا ہے کہ دنیا میں کوئی ماں باپ بھی یہ نہیں چاہتا کہ اس کی اولاد بگڑ جائے یا وہ اس کی بدنامی کا باعث بنے. شاید ہی ایسے کوئی ماں باپ ہوں جنہیں اپنی اولاد کی برائیوں اور عیبوں پر فخر محسوس ہوتا ہو. پھر یہ سوال اٹھتا ہے کہ آخر والدین کی جانب سے تعلیم و تربیت، نصیحت اور لاکھ کوششوں کے باوجود بھی ان کے بچوں میں بری عادات کیسے منتقل ہو جاتی ہیں؟ کیوں بچے بڑے ہو کر بری عادات اور رویوں کو اختیار کر لیتے ہیں؟ آخر کیا وجہ ہے؟ کیا معاشرہ ان کی تربیت پر اثر انداز ہو جاتا ہے یا پھر والدین سے ہی جانے انجانے میں ایسی چھوٹی چھوٹی غلطیاں ہو جاتی ہیں جن کا خمیازہ مستقبل میں بہت بڑا بھگتنا پڑتا ہے اور بچے والدین کی عدم توجہی کے باعث دماغی طور پر رفتہ رفتہ مفلوج ہوتے جا رہے ہیں.

##### My perspective: As I've made clear before, no parent desires their child to stray. Yet, sometimes circumstances beyond parental control inadvertently impact children's upbringing negatively. While it's true that society, friends' influence, school, college, and university environments affect children to some extent, but if a child's foundational education from their mother's lap is strong, it makes them resilient to the whims of society. If parental upbringing is solid and firm, regardless of the environment a child is exposed to, they won't compromise on their principles. Even if a child seemingly belongs to a respectable family, if their mannerisms aren't correct, somewhere along the line, there might be reasons that need to be addressed.

**میرا نقطہ نظر:** جیسے کہ میں اپنا نقطہ نظر پہلے ہی واضح کر چکا ہوں کہ کوئی باپ نہیں چاہتا کہ اس کی اولاد آوارہ ہو کوئی ماں نہیں چاہتی کہ اس کی اولاد نافرمان ہو، مگر کچھ باتیں جانے انجانے میں والدین سے ہی ایسی صادر ہو جاتی ہیں جو آگے جا کر بچوں کی تربیت پر منفی بور پر اثر انداز ہوتی ہیں. مانا کہ معاشرے کا، دوستوں کی صحبت کا، سکول کالج اور یونیورسٹی کے ماحول کا، اردگرد رہنے والے لوگوں کے رویوں کا اثر بھی کسی نہ کسی حد تک بچے کی تربیت پر پڑتا ہے لیکن اگر انسان کی اولین درسگاہ یعنی ماں کی گود سے ہی اس کی تربیت صحیح بنیادوں پر استوار ہو جائے تو معاشرے کے گرم سرد سے اسے فرق نہیں پڑتا. اگر والدین کی تربیت مضبوط اور مستحکم ہو تو پھر چاہے بچہ کیسے ہی ماحول میں چلا جائے وہ اپنی اقدار پر ہرگز سمجھوتہ نہیں کرتا. اگر کوئی بچہ بظاہر اچھے گھرانے سے تعلق رکھتا ہے، ظاہری طور پر اس گھرانے کا تذکرہ اچھے الفاظ میں کیا جاتا ہے. مگر آپ دیکھتے ہیں کہ شریف گھرانے سے تعلق رکھنے کے باوجود اس کے طور طریقے درست نہیں ہیں تو کہیں نہ کہیں ان وجوہات میں سے کوئی وجہ پائی گئی ہوگی جس کا تذکرہ میں آگے کرنے جا رہا ہوں.

##### Inter-family conflicts: The negative impact of parents' internal conflicts and disagreements on their children is inevitable. When a child sees their parents prohibiting them from arguing and fighting but witnesses them quarreling day and night, they perceive their advice as meaningless. It's often observed that when parents argue amongst themselves, the child listens from behind closed doors. They wish their parents wouldn't fight. This constant exposure to parental conflicts instills fear in the child's heart, leading to a loss of self-confidence. Consequently, the time that was supposed to be spent on the child's upbringing is wasted. Obviously, if parents don't have time due to quarrels, will they prioritize their child's upbringing? The result is that parents vent all their frustrations on the child, and the child, in turn, vents their emotional turmoil onto their siblings or whoever they have power over, perpetuating a cycle of negativity in children, often unnoticed.

**باہمی ناچاقی:** والدین کی آپسی لڑائی اور نااتفاقی کا منفی اثر ضرور ان کے بچوں پر پڑتا ہے. جب بچہ یہ دیکھتا ہے کہ والدین مجھے تو لڑنے جھگڑنے سے منع کرتے ہیں مگر خود آپس میں صبح شام دن رات لڑتے رہتے ہیں تو وہ ان کی نصیحت کو بے معنی خیال کرتا ہے. ہم نے اکثر دیکھا ہے کہ والدین جب آپس میں تو تو میں میں کرتے ہیں، بچہ انہیں دروازے کی اوٹ کے پیچھے سے چھپ کر دیکھ رہا ہوتا ہے. وہ دل میں یہ تمنا کرتا ہے کہ کاش میرے والدین جھگڑا نہ کریں. اس کے دل میں اس لڑائی جھگڑے کی وجہ سے ایک خوف بیٹھ جاتا ہے جس کی وجہ سے وہ اپنی خود اعتمادی کھو دیتا ہے. دوسری جانب اس تکرار کے نتیجے میں جو وقت بچے کی تربیت پر صرف ہونا تھا وہ بھی برباد ہو جاتا ہے. ظاہر سی بات ہے جب والدین کو لڑائی جھگڑے سے ہی فرصت نہ ملے گی تو وہ اولاد کی تربیت خاک کریں گے؟ نتیجہ یہ نکلتا ہے کہ ماں باپ لڑائی کی ساری بھڑاس بچے پر نکالتے ہیں اور پھر بچہ اپنے بہن بھائیوں پر یا جس پر اس کا بس چلتا ہو اس پر اپنے دل کی بھڑاس اور غصہ نکالتا ہے اور ایک تسلسل کے ساتھ یہ منفی رویہ بچوں میں غیر محسوس انداز میں سرایت کرتا جاتا ہے.

##### Abusive Language: One significant factor negatively affecting children's upbringing is the unethical language used by parents in anger or absentmindedness in front of their children. It's often witnessed that an argument ensued between parents, and they said something in a fit of emotion. Now, the child, too, goes outside and repeats the same to others, and when complaints reach the parents that their child is using foul language, they are shocked, even though they were the ones who taught it. They say that wounds inflicted by weapons heal, but those inflicted by words never do. Physical wounds heal in minutes, but verbal wounds linger for years, breeding resentment, animosity, and hostility. Therefore, parents should never use foul and abusive language, especially in front of children, as if parents curse, the child learns the same and curses outside.

**گالم گلوچ:** بچوں کی تربیت پر منفی اثر انداز ہونے والی ایک بڑی چیز اس کے والدین کے غیر اخلاقی الفاظ ہوتے ہیں جو وہ غصے میں یا بے دھیانی میں بچوں کے سامنے کہہ جاتے ہیں. اکثر یہ دیکھا گیا ہے کہ والدین کا جھگڑا ہوا. انہوں نے جذبات میں آکر کچھ کہہ دیا. اب بچہ بھی باہر جا کر وہی کچھ دوسروں سے کہہ رہا ہے اور بچوں کی شکایت جب والدین تک پہنچتی ہے کہ آپ کا بچہ گالیاں دے رہا ہے، تو پھر اس کی دہری شامت آجاتی ہے، حالانکہ یہ گالی اسے والدین نے ہی سکھائی ہوتی ہے. کہتے ہیں کہ تیر کا زخم تو بھر جاتا ہے مگر زبان سے لگا زخم کبھی نہیں بھرتا. ہاتھا پائی تو چند منٹ میں ختم ہو جاتی ہے مگر زہر میں بجھے الفاظ سالوں تک رنجشیں، کینہ، بغض اور عداوت کو جنم دیتے ہیں. اس لیے والدین کو کسی بھی صورت میں گالم گلوچ والی زبان نہیں استعمال نہیں چاہیے. خصوصاً بچوں کے سامنے تو بالکل بھی نہیں. کیونکہ اگر والدین گالیاں دیں گے تو بچہ بھی یہی سیکھے گا اور باہر جا کر گالیاں نکالے گا.

##### Lies: Often parents, in negligence or knowingly, tell lies in front of their children. When a child sees their elders lying, they consider it a trivial matter and don't pay much attention. However, the repercussions of this lie are so vast that thousands of pages would fall short. All the corruption and chaos have their roots in lies. To conceal one lie, they have to tell a hundred more. Parents often tell lies thinking they are minor, but the child, for the sake of convenience, starts lying recklessly. This results in harm to themselves and sometimes severe consequences for the parents too. Hence, parents should never lie, especially in front of their children; otherwise, tomorrow the child will learn the same.

**جھوٹ:** اکثر والدین بے خیالی میں بھی اور جانتے بوجھتے بھی بچوں کے سامنے جھوٹ بول رہے ہوتے ہیں. جب بچہ اپنے بڑوں کو جھوٹ بولتا دیکھتا ہے تو وہ اسے ہلکی سی بات سمجھتا ہے اور زیادہ پرواہ نہیں کرتا. حالانکہ اس جھوٹ کی خرابیاں اس قدر زیادہ ہیں کہ ہزاروں صفحات بھی کم پڑ جائیں. سارے فتنہ فساد کی جڑ ہی جھوٹ ہے. پھر ایک جھوٹ کو چھپانے کے لیے سو جھوٹ مزید بولنے پڑتے ہیں. فقط خود کو صحیح ثابت کرنے یا اپنی غلطی کو چھپانے کے لیے والدین معمولی سمجھ کر جھوٹ بولتے ہیں، لیکن بچہ ہر قسم کی مصلحت سے ماوراء ہو کر دھڑلے سے جھوٹ بولنے لگتا ہے. جس کی وجہ سے وہ خود اپنا بھی نقصان کر بیٹھتا ہے اور بسا اوقات والدین کو بھی شدید نقصان سے دوچار کرتا ہے. اس لیے والدین کو کبھی بھی خصوصاً بچے کے سامنے کسی صورت بھی جھوٹ نہیں کہنا چاہیے. ورنہ کل کو بچہ بھی یہی سیکھے گا.

##### Disrespect towards relatives: Sometimes, conflicts persist between two families for generations. In rural areas, such conflicts can continue for centuries. A small matter can lead to weeks, months, or even years of dissatisfaction. Children are innocent; they don't know what family relationship their parents are severing. When children from both families play together, parents find it unbearable and try to separate them. Our religion deems severing family ties as sinful, yet regrettably, we give priority to our false ego over religion. Thus, there are several other reasons and factors where parents' negligence affects children, but considering the length of the essay, I'll stop here.

**رشتہ داروں سے عدم رواداری:** بسا اوقات دو خاندانوں میں عرصے سے باپ دادا کے زمانے سے لڑائی چلتی آ رہی ہوتی ہے. دیہی علاقوں میں تو یہ لڑائی صدیوں تک چلتی رہتی ہے. چھوٹی سی بات پر ہفتوں مہینوں بلکہ سالوں تک ناراضگی چلتی رہتی ہے. بچے تو آخر بچے ہوتے ہیں. انہیں کیا معلوم کہ کس رشتہ دار سے ماں باپ کی قطع تعلقی چل رہی ہے. جب دونوں خاندانوں کے بچے آپس میں مل جل کر کھیلتے ہیں تو والدین کو یہ بات ایک آنکھ ہضم نہیں ہوتی اور پھر وہ بچوں کو زبردستی ایک دوسرے سے جدا کرنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں. ہمارا مذہب تو رشتہ داروں سے قطع تعلقی کو حرام بتاتا ہے مگر افسوس کے ساتھ ہم اپنی جھوٹی انا کو مذہب پر بھی فوقیت دے جاتے ہیں. یوں تو اور بھی کئی وجوہات اور اسباب ہیں، جہاں والدین سے کمی کوتاہی رہ جاتی ہے مگر مضمون کی طوالت کو مد نظر رکھتے ہوئے میں اسی پر اکتفا کروں گا.

##### Final recommendation: Children learn both respect and disrespect from their parents. Please, for the sake of your children's upbringing, educate yourselves as well. Make sure the environment at home is peaceful. The atmosphere deteriorates with constant quarrels and fights. Peace is lost, and children gradually become mentally distressed. Show your children true love to save them from becoming mentally ill. Raise them in a healthy environment so that they can be beneficial for the country, society, and the world.
