Today been a weekend I set out along with mine brothers to my Yam farm to harvest some of the yam. I have been away for some time so it long gone since when I was supposed to harvest the Yam.
It's rained overnight so the rain was some how messy, but we got no choice, man has got to eat, so with the hoes and cutlass we divide ourselves in order to make the work easier and faster
Some were harvesting the yam, some gathering it to a fixed place on the heaps, while I pack it in a sack to a point at the side of the stream. When we have all rounded up the harvesting, we packed the yam harvested to the stream side.
All the Yams harvested were washed with water from the stream to get the dirty and sand off it, so it will easy to convey down to the house. As we wash ithe yam, we pack it in a sack for easy carriage.
When we have rounded up our work at the farm, we cleaned our tools and bodies with water from the stream, then we went on our way home with the yam packed in the sack.
That was how my work at the farm went today. You can come along to get some yam. I intend to make a delicacy of pounded yam with vegetables and stock-fish.
