Yesterday started out like crap. His night terrors had us awake most of night and we all slept like utter garbage. It made for a rather late morning all around.
I kept J home from school as he was still feeling awful. When I got back from dropping R at school I hooked up the splitter to my truck and backed it up into the yard where I could move it by hand. Mid morning I got it in place then had to restack all the split wood to make room.
I took an hour to get it all stacked before I could start splitting. It took me a while to get the hang of using a splitter again since I am so used to swinging the maul.
After an hour of cracking rounds I had a nice sized pile that had to get stacked before I could split more.
I got the back row set with all the split then went in for food then to pick R up from school.
Once I was back I got right back at it for the afternoon.
The rounds ar3e dwindling in the yard as they get stacked in the pile. This is all wet wood that needs to season so it is in the back while other rounds still to come into the yard are from standing dead.
It got me a large portion of the back row 6 feet tall.
I split a few more rounds to try and finish the row but I didn't quite finish it off.
Once stacked I have an over 30 foot long row stacked up and 1/3 of my wood storage area filled.
I had to get the trailer hooked up for my grain run I have done this morning already. Snow is coming today and we are looking at up to 6 inches.
I made dinner then @stryeyz made J's birthday cake which he managed to eat some of despite his extreme lack of appetite.
We were all beat and were in bed early.
I have been to town for grain, will go empty the 5 barrels in a few minutes, then I have to go pickup the freezer I ordered this morning at Lowes and get it setup and running so the turkey can go in it, I have the rest of the rounds in the yard to split and J has to pickup their Nerf bullets before the snow comes.
