My Bestfriend's Birthday Celebration
Last October 15, my best friends and I gathered to celebrate Kenneth's Birthday. His birthday was way back October 1, but because we weren't there due to our working schedule, he had to make a different celebration for us. Birthdays are really something that we celebrate within our friend group, especially now that we're young adults, it's such a surreal experience to see us grow into the persons we've always dreamed of becoming.
We had dinner at Kuya J's, we originally planned to have it at La Tigola, because most of us were craving for some Italian food, but it was close so we just went in with classic Filipino cuisine. We had Pancit Canton, Crispy Pata, Pork Sinigang and Chicken Lumpia. The food is delicious however I don't really like their service. Their food takes too long to be prepared and they seemed to be short of staff. It's a good thing my circle is full with the most humorous people ever, so waiting doesn't really bother us since we talk and throw jokes most of the time.
When we were talking we really took time to reflect on how we've grown us a group. From talking about boy crushes back in High School to now discussing about the goals we have achieved and the dreams that we continue on reaching. Like what I mentioned in my previous blogs, these people are my ride or die. If there's a group of people who knows every side of Sway, its them. I'm extremely grateful to have been blessed with such amazing friends. Even once, I never felt like we were in a competition, maybe because each of us are really different in terms of what we want to achieve in life. We really do support each other and are always there when one needs help. I truly can't wait to see us living the dreams we are working our asses off so much for.
Meeting a long time Online Friend
Last Monday, I finally met one of my long time online friends. This was truly years in the making, and I'm so happy we finally met. She's been such a supportive soul when I was still starting with my online career. I remember posting Youtube videos when I was around 18, and she was one of the first people who showed genuine support in my craft. She would always comment on my videos and encourages me to post more. We constantly talk online as well. She would check on me whenever I seem to be MIA online. She's indeed a sweet heart and I'm so happy to have someone like her supporting me.
We met at Ayala through coffee, though it was our first meet up but there wasn't a hint of awkwardness between the two of us, maybe because we have become so comfortable with each other since we've been online friends for so long. We talked a lot about our experiences, since she is also a trans woman so we really have went through similar things. It was really fun to finally be able to spend time with someone you've known for so long. I wish I can do this with my other online friends, especially those I know from Tiktok. Some of them are from different parts of the country so it would really be awesome to meet one of them.
Reunited with my College Friends 🤍
Omg. Last Tuesday, I finally reunited with some of my college block mates. It has been 3 years since I last saw most of them. I graduated college back in 2018, I haven't transitioned yet that time so to meet them now that I have was extremely exciting. One of our classmates, Keith, just got married so we took it as a chance to gather again. Hermel, our class treasurer back then, was really generous enough to host the mini-reunion.
He booked a lunch function at Circa 800 in Lahug. I got there along with my best friend, Madel. When we got inside we were so aghast to finally see our classmates. We couldn't help but to hug them all. Some of them were really shocked as to how I look like now. They told me that out of all of us, I was the one who changed the most, well I should blame my hormones for that lol. Seriously, it was such an amazing feeling to be reunited with these people. It really goes to show how fast time flies. It didn't even feel like three years have already passed. We're still the same bubbly block section that our professors have always believed in. I also saw one of my college crushes for the first time since graduation. He now has a kid and is living in with one of our classmates. I'm just so proud to see him grow into the man I've always known he will.
Right after our sumptuous lunch we then went to IT Park to do a little drunk session. It wasn't all of us though since some of them still has work. We bonded over some cold drinks and great conversation. I really enjoyed every bit of the time I spent there, it feels like college all over again. We promised to each other that we would see each other more often, and actually we are already planning a Despida Party since one of us will be working back in a Cruise Ship this November, so that will surely be another one for the blog.
This week have been filled with so much gratitude. I am blessed to be at a position wherein I know I am surrounded by good and genuine friends. I really look forward in not just keeping my long time friends, but also, meeting new people like the people in Hive and speaking of which, tomorrow is our Hiveloween. OMG.
