The Weekly Lifestyle Lounge Blog No.1- Confession Corner

I have no doubt about it... I am a beautiful person, in and out! I have everything going for me. But if a traditional person looks at my life, they would say, "Hmmm.. perhaps. Except one."

My love life

Once, a long time ago, I thought I fell in love. He was handsome, a good person, and a real hunk of a guy. If there is was anything a girl could wish for in a guy, he had it. We went for two and a half years.

He asked me to marry him just as soon as a year had passed since my Daddy died (which left me orphaned). Not knowing any better, I said "Yes".

I was 23 years old, fresh out of college. What else is a girl to do?

We went home to Hawaii, two weeks prior to the day. Many days on the beach... it made me think long and hard.

To make a long story short, a day to the wedding, I decided that it was not for me. It was the most difficult decision I had to make in my life, and I am glad I did it.

I will spare you the details of what went through my head weeks before the wedding. And I will spare you the drama that went on immediately after I made the decision, and long after that. I leave it to your imagination! Anything you can think of is pretty much what happened, give or take this and that.

Twenty years after

Here I am twenty years after.

Let me see. I have traveled locally...

Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Louisiana, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington DC, New Jersey, New York, Massachusettes, California, and Hawaii.

and internationally.

Mexico, Canada, Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, The Bahamas, China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines.

I bought my first home at 24 years old and named it "A Bit of Paradise". I lived a beautiful life of 14 years there. I still regret selling my first home.

I bought and moved to another house. I met the stacking community while in that house... it was a turning point in my life! I eventually sold that house (not an ideal house) after three short years and bought this house that I currently have.

I watched this house being built from the ground up. It includes an income property!

I've had three homes, and I think this will be my home until a retire! But... who knows!

I have had one job ever since I joined the workforce. I worked myself and climb to my current position. Nope, I have no intention of moving jobs, if they would have me. Although beset with challenges, the job gets easier as the years go by. And the benefits are unheard of at my level. I cannot be but grateful!

Friends

I kept close friends from college... sorority sisters. I have no real-life sisters, and they have become my family. There are 10 of us, 5 are single.

My friends saved me during the biggest drama of my life.

We've been through so much together, I think it will be hard to break us. School stuff, relationships, work stuff, weddings, births, baptism, birthdays, even deaths, travels, food... you name it, we have gone through it.

And the secret... we take each other for who they are and what they will become in the future!

Routine

Precovid, my usual routine (other than work Mondays through Fridays) was on Tuesday and Thursday I go lap swim; Fridays I get together with a small circle of friends; Saturdays I feed the hungry; Sundays is Holy Mass; every 1st Wednesdays of the month I give talk to ladies of a woman's club. I go to the salon once or twice a month! I am slowly getting back into that routine

Then I have my chores at home.

I bathe three tiny dogs once a week!

I do grocery once a week.

Other than cooking, I bake three batches of bread once a week: rustic bread, 2 loaves of sliced bread, and 24 rolls.

Then there is the laundry to do twice a week: clothes and linen. Ironing is done on laundry days.

I complete a clean-up-chores a day and weekly clean the house. I generally keep the house very clean, and any day can be a party day!

Hobbies

Stacking is a hobby, and so is gardening. I go to the shooting range every 6 months. A while back when I became a Yorkie Mum, I took on hobby breading. Prior to that, I was an equestrian. Both hobbies I abandoned, for lack of time.

Once in a while, my sorority sisters and I attend concerts, play golf, take hot air balloon rides.. among other things.

And three years ago I started to blog.

So ...

Between travel, friends, routine, and hobbies, I don't miss anything in life, except my parents and brothers. Lately, I had some health issues... but who doesn't?

I've had cancer several years back. That was another difficult time in my life. And for a while, I underwent depression! I've had three successful surgeries, and I'm in remission for 4 years now.

It was then that I realize that my life.. as is.. is best... lived as is. All the "I should have ... I shouldn't have...", have vanished away.
