Stick To Your Puns — A 240 Character ZapFic Story

Greetings, fellow sentient beings!

Coming in with another entry for the weekly ZapFic challenge by @felt.buzz. This week, the topic was Gun.

ZapFic is about writing extra-short fiction, complete in 240 characters. Most of the time I make it sound like an excerpt from a big story, true. But it is a standalone piece.

See if it isn't ;)

A few bruises on the face, some pain in the back...no biggy. The bullies think they made me quit messing around. Not me. I am gonna stick to my puns. I never give up on truth, as grandpa taught me.

Along with how to cast iron and mix powder.

By the way...and such a By-The-Way it is...

That topic touched on...all right, it rather straight bumped into a favorite fictional universe of mine — The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. A gunslinger saga like no other. Like all of them. Unlike all of them in worlds that are not like ours. But they are all our world. A series that gathers many of the author's ideas. It spans decades, starting with The Gunslinger back when Stephen King was young and...younger than most of us here are right now. Complete with The Dark Tower this century. And quite modern in its topics. We're still living it.

There is a movie loosely based on...some...parts of...some of...the series of books. A short movie for all seven of them? It does not tell the same story. It just focuses on three of the main characters and plays a storyline that is there...but in a different way. You can watch it if you like action, badass villains, or inspiring quotes here and there.

But if you haven't read the books yet...

You are lucky that you can begin to discover what's within.

Long Days And Pleasant Nights To You!

Also, Peace!
