A great recycling idea - Bowl rolled of paper

We recently had a lot of advertising newspapers in the mailboxes which caused a lot of annoyance. There was a feeling that the mailbox was more like a trash can. Now we have a collection basket outside at the entrance to the house. Much better, than filling the mailboxes. I simply go down and select the most appropriate newspapers. It should be thin paper, not too smooth and not too rough.
From these, my works are made with great patience over a long period of time, including bowls, candlesticks, dish coasters and pendants. I have to do a lot of meticulous work with them, but the material is free. Here, however, most people consider the material and are unwilling to pay for the work invested.

That’s why, I decided I’d rather teach people how to make such items. I can ask for an amount that’s worth it for all of us. I will not reveal the little secrets without which the items cannot be made.

Well, let's see how to do them. You'll need a lot of papers, a loop stick or shashlik wand, paper cutting knife or scissors, very strong wood glue.

What you will need most is perseverance and patience. You may, after a while, throw you angrily in the trash and vow you will never start such meaningless activities again! I went through all this, shouted angrily why it didn't work, then I started again several times.
Cut the papers in strips (about 8 cm)

Scroll the strips on a loop stick like this:

Glue it in the end:

Now you'll have a lot of paper sticks to roll small and big discs.

You can put them together in various ways.

You can shape the hollowness of the bowl by sliding the layers very carefully. It’s not good to roll too tight, nor is it good to be too loose. This is where the mistakes come from. If the scroll jumps apart, you can start all over again.

Here is an example for a small bowl.

If you are more experienced, you can unleash your creativity.

Apply the finished object with glue diluted with water on both sides and allow to dry. This stabilizes the shape.

In the end, you can paint it with acrylic paint or simply with varnish.

I'm not a person! I'm human!

With lots of love from Kalemandra
