A few minutes ago, I walked outside in my fluffy "bunny" like night gown (that actually belonged to my mom), headphones on, cigarette in one hand (yeah, gross I know - suck it up cupcake) - wine in the other... consumed by the moment, dancing and, well... not giving a shit about anything, other than enjoying those very seconds.

Life has an uncanny way of slapping us in the face with much needed perspective, doesn't it?! Yes, yes it does. I don't think any of us really want to talk about the large slices of bitter cake life has dealt lately - so let's not... but what we CAN talk about, is the humanity and humility we have (hopefully) gained from it all and how we can use those to create positive change.

Today I had the pleasure of chatting briefly with @nathanmars! It was absolutely SUPER to just "connect". The convo was brief - but meaningful in my opinion. I love what he is doing with connecting us all on a primary and also secondary level, and much of our intention is shared. You can check out the stream by clicking the image below... Sometimes a persons message is "lost in translation" and I just wanted to post this now to echo and add to what was chatted about earlier. I think the most pertinent question asked today was how do we move Hive forward? How do we GROW this space?! As I attempted to explain... yes, on boarding is fantastic - but we have so MANY people "here" already! They have made the effort to sign up and have started contributing to our blockchain... but if we don't "catch them soon", they will lose their enthusiasm and leave. I am all for people standing on their own two feet - believe me, I will be the first to tell you that you made a crappy decision... but that is not the point...

The blockchain itself can be incredibly overwhelming to many and it is sad to see how FEW people here seem to grasp the concept of: "what is easy to you - is not easy to all" - I have experienced that pesonally on many occasions in this space - but unfortunately for them... I am a stubborn little B-with-an-itch!

What we need here is "connection"! Not communication and connection dictated by the witnesses or major stake holders... NO! We need communication and connection among ourselves - yes, US - the "minions" - because let's just state one fact right here, without all of our awesomeness... this space is about as useful as nipples on a man! We need REAL TIME engagement!!! We need to connect people on a familiar level! Open the door to something new that does NOT scare them with passwords longer than the legs of a runway model - get them excited about a new adventure!!!!

Yes, we have GREAT people here - doing AMAZING things, such as those running the Steem Terminal as well a new addition... #hivechat and we need to harness all of the above - but right now, I want to introduce you all to something else... something SUPER AWESOME!

Many of us have a "love/hate" relationship with Facebook - but the reality remains that 99% of our family and friends are still there... right?! We have TRIED, time and TIME again to get them over into our space... but have failed - I know I have! I REALLY think that this space could change ALL of that! What am I talking about?

TORUM!

I am talking about Torum!

Here we have a social media platform that yes, looks like facebook... but is NOT Facebook! ... Entertain me for a minute whilst I steal words from @zord189...

Torum is powered by the token, XTM and is aiming to be a crypto-centric social media platform and a hub for all crypto projects and enthusiasts to gather. In layman's term, think of it like linkedin but for crypto projects as well as the facebook side of socializing! Torum is partly centralized and decentralized. It is created by a company called Torum Technology sdn. bhd. from Malaysia. The centralized aspect is where the company takes care of the front and back-end of the Torum platform, the ui/ux, user experiences and overall mechanics. The decentralized part is where they'll be using XTM, an erc-20 based token as a tipping reward/mission rewards to incentivise events and/or content on the platform. We are faced with a blockchain community that has relative restriction... ie. don't shit post more than absolutely necessary. We are met with the competition of platforms that allow "one liner" opinions and "link drops" WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE! The SOCIAL MEDIA aspect has been the missing link all along in my opinion! It is the one thing that will not only entice the majority, but will also afford the existing Hive users to have a VALID space to share what they publish and for respective recipients to respond accordingly OUTSIDE of the post itself. It is the final ingredient to a PERFECT recipe for newcomers in our space!!!
