COURAGE

JH SWORD.jpeg

“A sword wields no strength unless the hand that holds it has courage.”

Courage, for most of us, sounds like something that only extraordinary people possess
when doing brave or heroic deeds. It seems far-fetched and not something that ordinary
people can have. But the root word of courage is the Latin word “cor” meaning “heart.”

Courage is not something you accomplish but it is at the heart of what you do. In other
words, courage is really action that comes from the heart.
Usually, courage is also confused with bravery. Bravery is facing imminent danger
without fear while courage is facing any challenge despite the fear. You are courageous
when you acknowledge your fear and do something to overcome it. Courage is having
strength to exert your willpower to face your fears or the adversities in life.

Nowadays, with all that is happening around us, we all need courage. There are a lot of
things that make us feel afraid or uncertain. Sometimes we may feel like giving up
because everything seems too much to handle. But it is during these times that we
discover our true inner strength. We should never give up.

You will discover that courage is as simple as opening your eyes every morning.
Courage is telling yourself every single day that you can overcome anything, even if you
feel like you can’t. Courage is wearing a smile even when you feel like everything is
falling apart. Courage is to love others even when your heart is breaking. Courage is not
as big as changing the world, but simply in changing your world, your mindset.

Courage does not need you to fight as a knight in shining armor. It is fighting each and every day,
reminding yourself that you are strong and that there is always hope, even when you
feel there is none. Pick up your sword and keep fighting, Warriors!
