En lo personal me encantan las comedias románticas, más aún si son ambientadas en la época de Navidad y estas dos características las reúne "El Descanso", claro que tengo muchas otras películas favoritas, pues me encanta el séptimo arte, pero hoy me gustaría hablarles de esta película del año 2006 que me hace reír, enternecerme y llorar cada vez que la veo. ¡Me encanta!

Las dos chicas protagonistas de esta película me parecen geniales, Amanda (Cameron Díaz) con su incapacidad para llorar y por otro lado Iris (Kate Winslet) una enamorada empedernida quien ama a un hombre que no le corresponde. Ambas sufren decepciones amorosas días antes de Navidad y deciden cambiar de casa durante esa temporada, desean alejarse de todo para olvidar sus penas.

Mi personaje favorito es el de Arthur (Eli Wallach 1915-2014), el vecino de Amanda, el anciano guionista retirado de Hollywood quien hace una extraordinaria amistad con Iris, su relación es demasiado hermosa, la manera en la que cada uno se ayuda para vencer sus miedos es simplemente maravillosa, amo las referencias a las bandas sonoras de las películas que aparecen en la novela y también las frases de películas que se comparten.
My favorite character is that of Arthur (Eli Wallach 1915-2014), Amanda's neighbor, the elderly retired Hollywood screenwriter who makes an extraordinary friendship with Iris, their relationship is too beautiful, the way everyone helps each other to overcome their fears is simply wonderful, I love the references to movie soundtracks that appear in the novel and also the movie quotes that are shared.
Me parece genial una escena donde Arthur al hablar con Iris le aconseja que sea la protagonista de su historia, que ya basta de ser la amiga de la protagonista, con cada frase que él pronuncia y con cada película que le recomienda le ayuda a empoderarse y a amarse a sí misma.

Me encanta la comicidad, la sencillez y la brillantez de esta película. Es tan dulce y divertida, tal cual como me gustan las comedias románticas. ¡Una de mis favoritas!
