A few days ago I went to check out on my first orange cat at my neighbours’ house a few hundred meters away from my place. Apart from the pleasure of being reunited with my old cat, I had a good time enjoying the flowers and plants in their garden. The cat’s new owners are very nice retired teacher (wife) and engineer (husband) who used to work on gas pipeline projects. They tended to spend most of their time at their nice country house where they could do gardening. I was quite amazed by all the hanging plants and pot plants. Some of their orchids are showing off their bright colours.
The lighting in the late afternoon was quite prohibiting to taking photos with my old iPhone. I could see that the sun would be setting soon from the changing colours of the clouds. But the lady of the house wanted to show me her cacti while the orange cat was meowing for attention.
Some of the cacti have just been blooming two days ago. My neighbour showed me hundreds of photos on her mobile phone. She’s evidently crazy about cacti.
The orange cat kept following me around and wanted me to massage her back. I had to keep a fine balance between paying attention to the lady, the cat and taking photos in her garden. Some people seemed to have a very relaxing retirement doing gardening everyday. There are various kinds of foliage pot plants and other bright colourrd flowers along the path. Big fruit trees were too thick with leaves and several ants’ nests.
สองสามวันที่ผ่านมา เราไปเยี่ยมแมวส้มที่ย้ายไปอยู่ที่บ้านของเพื่อนบ้านที่อยู่ห่างไปสองสามร้อยเมตรในซอยเดียวกัน แมวส้มดีใจที่เห็นเราและมาเล่นกับเรา ส่วนเจ้าของบ้านสองตายายก็กำลังทำสวนกันอย่างจริงจัง ตอนนี้เขาใช้ชีวิตวัยเกษียณอย่างสบายๆที่บ้านสวนของเขา เจ้าของบ้านที่เคยเป็นคุณครูชอบปลูกดอกไม้และเล่นไม้ใบสีต่างๆ และชอบต้นกระบองเพชรมาก เขาชวนให้เราดูดอกที่พึ่งออกมาใหม่ และให้ดูรูปในโทรศัพท์อีกหลายร้อยรูป เราก็พยายามถ่ายรูปไว้ แต่แสงไม่ค่อยดีเท่าไรเพราะพระอาทิตย์กำลังตกที่ริมแม่น้ำ เราจึงรีบถ่ายรูปเพื่อจะไปเดินเล่นต่อที่ริมแม่น้ำ แต่แมวส้มและเจ้าของบ้านรั้งเราไว้ต่ออีก เราก็ปล่อยตามไปกับการชมสวน เขามีต้นไม้กระถางแปลกๆ น่าสนใจอีกหลายอย่าง แต่แสงไม่พอสำหรับการถ่ายรูปแล้ว
นอกจากนี้เขายังมีดอกไม้พวกโป๊ยเซียนหลายสิบกระถาง เรียงรายตามทางเดินด้วย พวกต้นผลไม้ก็โตมากมีใบเขียวแน่นเต็มต้น และมีทั้งรังผึ้งและรังมดแดง เราเห็นเลยว่าสองคนตายายมีความสุขกับการทำสวนมาก เขามีชีวิตที่น่าอิจฉามากสำหรับหลายๆคน
เราชอบดูบรรดาต้นกระบองเพชรมาก และเรางงมากว่าทำไมเขาจึงชอบซื้อมามากมายเกือบร้อยกระถาง เราก็คุยไป ถ่ายรูปไปและเล่นกับแมวส้มไปพร้อมกัน
เราคิดว่าคงเดินไปถ่ายรูปพระอาทิตย์ตกดินไม่ทันแล้วเราก็ปล่อย ไม่ต้องรีบแล้ว ถ่ายรูปเล่นในสวนนี่แหละ และใช้เวลากับแมวให้มากที่สุดก่อน
