Don't Wait Until You Are Perfect...

Patrick has been someone I had a slight crush on the first or perhaps on two occasions I set my eyes on him. Well, don't blame me for admiring people who aren't only good-looking but also fighters.
I admired him from a distance, although there wasn't any form of closeness or whatsoever.
A year after sharing our ink in the same space, we were all left to face reality once more so I never heard from him anymore.
Some months back, I got enrolled in an online program and I happen to meet Patrick once again. I knew for a fact that the name struck me when I saw it in a group of thousands of people. I clicked the profile to be sure and yes it was him. I was like, oh what a coincidence. Of course, I reached out to him and he was surprised to have me there in the program as well.
We only got talking once in a while until after the internship.

A few days ago when we started communicating more, we spoke about generally everything and what's keeping us busy. We mentioned work, life, and the rest and while discussing, we talked about individual passion, skill, and work.
I told him about my passion for art and what I look out for in the coming years. And the question he asked was; are you putting your works out there?
At first, I wanted to rush and give an answer to the question but I had to pause an ponder on what his question really meant, or perhaps I wanted to give another interpretation to it.
So I said Not really!
He asked why, and the only answer I could give was that I wasn't yet perfect, or should I say, good enough?

He told me that whatever it is I was doing was good and that I should believe in my abilities. He said I didn't have to wait until I was perfect before I start letting the world see my work or my potential because if I had to do that then it means I would have to wait forever.
It sounded like what I have been hearing people say but coming from Patrick meant so much more to me. It felt like he could understand what it meant to not be confident just yet in one's ability or potential. It sounded as though it was the first time I was actually thinking of putting myself or my work out there when the truth is it wasn't the first time for me. I have always had it in mind and a few friends have recommended it too but I just kept it to myself at times except for the few times I put them up on my social handles.

Patrick restructured my mind once more to believe in what my little hands can do now and hope for even greater things. He reminded me that I didn't have to be perfect to let the world see through me or have a taste of what is embedded in me or what I have to present to them (not only about the arts).
So today I want to reshape someone's mind too.
You don't have to wait until you are good enough or until you feel you are perfect before you sell yourself out.
Advertise yourself while you can and never wait for perfection before you do.
You never know in the process of advertising, perfection might come from the feedback you might likely receive from people.
Yes! Put yourself out there first and let your work speak for you.
Let me be the Patrick in your life today, but no crushing not even a slight one! 💔🤣

PS: The photo is gotten from a social page and it's not mine
Take some time out to appreciate this artist

His work could be mistaken for a photo 🥰
