El Portal del Milagro y 20seg Para Vivir

Ray Sheldon camina con pasos calculados, como queriendo no moverse. Con lentitud, avanza mientras sostiene a David del brazo izquierdo, quien, de igual manera, se mueve al mismo ritmo de Sheldon. Junto a ellos y en el flanco derecho, Richard Smith los sigue en el lento camino por el pasillo de la muerte. El silencio es abrumador mientras se acercan a una amplia puerta que indica el final del camino. Detrás de esta puerta, también se encuentra el final para David, ya que, en pocos minutos, será ejecutado.

— Aún no ha sucedido nada, David, — comenta Sheldon mirando su reloj, justo al encontrarse frente a la puerta de la cámara de la muerte. En su mente, una lucha interna se libra entre, el deber del cumplimiento de la sentencia ya dictada y, un milagro, por llamarlo de alguna manera.

— Va a suceder Ray, de eso no tengo dudas, — contesta David con voz muy calmada y serena. La tranquilidad de David, en un momento tan crucial y definitivo para su vida, abruma a Sheldon. Al tener la responsabilidad de hacer cumplir la pena de muerte que se le ha impuesto y confrontar la absoluta seguridad de David en su inocencia, incluso, justo a pocos instantes de ser ejecutado, lo colocan en una situación tan difícil y crucial para su propia vida. Esto en razón a que, por primera vez en casi cuarenta años, acompañando en sus últimos minutos de vida a más de 50 criminales que, hasta en esos últimos momentos, reconocieron y se arrepintieron de sus crímenes, hoy, cree en la inocencia de David.

David ha sido acusado y sentenciado a pena de muerte, por causar la explosión y desaparición de un avión de pasajeros en vuelo, con 190 personas a bordo. A pesar de que nunca se encontraron los restos del avión y de ninguno de sus ocupantes, el hecho de que David sea un experto en explosivos y electrónica, además de otras circunstancias que lo vinculan con el avión desaparecido, la pieza fundamental para sentenciar a David provino de sus propias acciones y afirmaciones.

Justo 30 minutos después de que el avión había despegado, David irrumpió en la torre de control que monitoreaba el vuelo. Bastante alterado, le pedía a los controladores que desviaran al avión de su ruta y les indico unas coordenadas por donde debería pasar el avión en su vuelo. Fue justo en esas coordenadas, donde el avión desapareció de los radares. Desde ese momento, y a pesar de que todo apuntaba a que él era el responsable de la perdida del avión, David ha insistido en su inocencia, alegando, para ello, que el avión había atravesado un portal cuántico.

Con la misma lucidez, tranquilidad, serenidad y seguridad que ha mantenido durante los últimos siete años, desde que fue arrestado, llevado a juicio y condenado a muerte, David se encuentra atado a la camilla de ejecución por inyección letal.

— ¡Va a suceder Ray, es hoy, estoy seguro!, — expresa, David en el lugar en donde pronto dejara de existir. — ¡Por favor, no presiones ese botón, no aún Ray!, — le suplica a Sheldon mientras lo mira fijamente. Sheldon se debate entre la seguridad que tiene de que ese hombre que será ejecutado es inocente y el cumplimiento sin demora de la sentencia, la cual nunca se ha visto detenida en un instante como este.

Con el corazón acelerado, Sheldon observa como el reloj descuenta los segundos restantes para que se cumpla la sentencia. Casi temblando, coloca su mano al lado del botón que inicia todo el proceso automático de inyección de las sustancias que le quitaran la vida a David. Esperando el milagro, dirige su vista a través del cristal, justo debajo del enorme reloj, donde se encuentran los testigos de la ejecución, los cuales incluyen a varios de los familiares de las víctimas.

Al momento de que el segundero del reloj marca la hora exacta de la ejecución, Sheldon no se atreve a presionar el botón. Transcurridos cinco segundos, Smith lo mira con firmeza. Pasan otros cinco segundos y Smith le hace la observación a Sheldon para que presione el botón. Sheldon mira a través del cristal mientras piensa en que los milagros no existen y justo cuando va a presionar el botón, se percata de un revuelo en la sala anexa a la cámara de ejecución. Un hombre entra abruptamente a la sala y mientras grita algo que ellos no pueden oír, nota como todos se levantan bastante alterados. Sheldon le hace señas a Smith para activar el sonido de la sala anexa y su corazón casi se detiene, por lo que escuchan:

— ¡Apareció, el avión ha regresado! ¡Es un milagro, ese hombre tenía razón!— grita la persona que acaba de entrar mientras señala a David en la camilla y todos corren atropelladamente fuera de la sala.

— ¡Hoy no va a morir un inocente aquí!— exclama Sheldon mientras procede a soltar y liberar a David de sus ataduras. Este lo mira con la sonrisa más hermosa que jamás se haya visto, mientras las lágrimas corren por sus mejillas.

David siempre insistió en su inocencia, en la seguridad de que el avión había atravesado un portal cuántico y que este se encontraba en otra dimensión. Desde que fue detenido en el aeropuerto, mantuvo con firmeza su afirmación, lo que no evito que fuera encontrado culpable condenado con la pena capital. Poco después, y estando a la espera de la fecha de su sentencia de muerte, insistió en que el avión regresaría, atravesando de nuevo el portal en una fecha y hora específica y en las coordenadas que David indicaba le habían llegado en sueños. Fue en esa misma fecha y hora, que el juez decidió se cumpliera su sentencia.

El Portal del Milagro, fue un grupo que se formó para tratar de salvar la vida de David, si es que este tuviese razón en lo que afirmaba. Aunque se unieron muchas personas y en general, creían en la inocencia de David, tres personas fueron fundamentales para el éxito de este grupo. Carlos Restrepo, el controlador aéreo del aeropuerto, quien certificaría que el avión aparecería a la hora y fecha dadas y en la posición que indicaban las coordenadas, ligeramente cerca del sitio donde había desaparecido. Dave Linderg, oficial de la prisión y quien recibiría el mensaje de Restrepo fuera de la sala, ya que dentro no hay ningún tipo de comunicación con el exterior y tenía la misión de irrumpir en la misma al confirmarse la aparición del avión.

Y el más importante, Ray Sheldon, quien tenía la difícil misión de retrasar la ejecución 20 segundos, el tiempo que estimaron tendrían para detener el cumplimiento de la sentencia. El portal se abrió y ocurrió el milagro. El avión desaparecido regreso siete años después, tal como lo afirmo David, con todos sus pasajeros a bordo y una gran historia que contar, pero que quedara para otro relato. Y aunque todos fueron suspendidos de sus trabajos, hoy son los mejores amigos que un portal cuántico haya podido reunir.

Esta es una historia ficticia y la cual tengo el gusto de compartir con toda la comunidad de Hive Blockchain. The Miracle Portal and 20 sec To Live

Ray Sheldon walks with calculated steps, as if not wanting to move. Slowly, he moves forward while holding David by the left arm, who, likewise, moves at the same pace as Sheldon. Next to them and on the right flank, Richard Smith follows them on the slow walk down the corridor of death. The silence is overwhelming as they approach a wide door that indicates the end of the path. Behind this door also lies the end for David, for, in a few minutes, he will be executed.

— Nothing has happened yet, David,— Sheldon comments, looking at his watch, just as he stands in front of the door to the death chamber. In his mind, an internal struggle rages between the duty of fulfilling the sentence already passed and a miracle, so to speak.

— It's going to happen, Ray, of that I have no doubt,— David answers in a very calm and serene voice. David's calmness, at such a crucial and definitive moment in his life, overwhelms Sheldon. Having the responsibility of enforcing the death sentence imposed on him and confronting David's absolute certainty of his innocence, even just moments away from execution, places him in such a difficult and crucial situation for his own life. This is because, for the first time in almost forty years, accompanying in their last minutes of life more than 50 criminals who, even in those last moments, recognized and repented of their crimes, today, he believes in David's innocence.

David has been charged and sentenced to death for causing the explosion and disappearance of an airliner in flight with 190 people on board. Although the wreckage of the plane and none of its occupants were ever found, the fact that David is an expert in explosives and electronics, in addition to other circumstances linking him to the missing plane, the key piece in sentencing David came from his own actions and claims.

Just 30 minutes after the plane had taken off, David burst into the control tower to monitor the flight. Quite upset, he asked the controllers to divert the aircraft from its route and gave them coordinates of where the plane should pass through on its flight. It was at these coordinates that the aircraft disappeared from the radars. Since then, and despite the fact that everything pointed to him being responsible for the loss of the plane, David has insisted on his innocence, claiming that the aircraft had gone through a quantum portal.

With the same lucidity, calmness, serenity, and assurance that he has maintained for the past seven years, since he was arrested, brought to trial, and sentenced to death, David is strapped to the execution gurney by lethal injection.

— It's going to happen, Ray, it's today, I'm sure of it,— David says at the place where he will soon cease to exist. — Please don't push that button, not yet Ray,— he pleads to Sheldon as he stares at him. Sheldon is torn between the certainty he has that the man to be executed is innocent, and the execution without delay of the sentence, which has never been stopped in an instant like this.

With his heart racing, Sheldon watches as the clock counts down the remaining seconds until the sentence is carried out. Almost trembling, he places his hand next to the button that starts the automatic process of injecting the substances that will take David's life. Hoping for a miracle, he looks through the glass, just below the huge clock, where the witnesses to the execution, including several of the victims' relatives, are located.

When the second hand of the watch shows the exact time of the execution, Sheldon does not dare to press the button. After five seconds, Smith looks at him firmly. Another five seconds pass and Smith make the remark to Sheldon to press the button. Sheldon looks through the glass while thinking that miracles don't exist and just as he is about to press the button, he notices a commotion in the room adjoining the execution chamber. A man abruptly enters the room and as he shouts something they can't hear, he notices how everyone gets up quite upset. Sheldon signals Smith to activate the sound in the adjoining room and his heart almost stops, because of what they hear:

— He's back, the plane is back! It's a miracle, that man was right!— shouts the person who just entered while pointing to David on the stretcher and everyone rushes out of the room.

— No innocent person is going to die here today,— exclaims Sheldon as he proceeds to release David from his restraints. David looks at him with the most beautiful smile ever seen, while tears run down his cheeks.

David always insisted on his innocence, on the certainty that the plane had gone through a quantum portal and that it was in another dimension. From the moment he was arrested at the airport, he firmly maintained his claim, which did not prevent him from being found guilty and sentenced to death. Shortly thereafter, and while awaiting the date of his death sentence, he insisted that the plane would return, passing through the portal again at a specific date and time and at the coordinates that David indicated had come to him in his dreams. It was on that same date and time that the judge decided to carry out his sentence.

The Miracle Portal was a group that was formed to try to save David's life if he was right in what he claimed. Although many people joined and generally believed in David's innocence, three people were fundamental to the success of this group. Carlos Restrepo, the airport air traffic controller, who would certify that the plane would appear at the given time and date and in the position indicated by the coordinates, slightly close to the site where it had disappeared. Dave Linderg, the prison officer who would receive Restrepo's message outside the room, since inside there is no communication with the outside world, and whose mission was to break into the room when the plane's appearance was confirmed.

And the most important, Ray Sheldon, who had the difficult mission of delaying the execution by 20 seconds, the time they estimated they would have to stop the sentence from being carried out. The portal opened and the miracle happened. The missing plane returned seven years later, just as David said, with all its passengers on board and a great story to tell, but that will remain for another story. And although they were all suspended from their jobs, today they are the best friends that a quantum portal has ever brought together.
