Aside from a few very rare politicians I think that most if not all of them are ruthless scumbags. You gotta screw over a lot of people in order to get to these positions after all.
I believe that the Presidency in the rest of our lifetimes is just going to be a series of executive orders that get negated once leadership changes hands. Nothing is going to change in any meaningful or lasting way.
