Mondays are busy days. It usually a day when work and business starts weekly in full force. There's usually no dulling moments on Mondays as everyone doubles their efforts and hustle.

Thanks God is Friday "TGIF" is a well known slang globally that suggests how Fridays are viewed. As the beginning of the weekend, many people feel very rest and happy about it. It is full of fun and merriments. Many people went to clubs to have a relaxed moment with friends and family. Unlike how Mondays are viewed. A busy and official day indeed!

In my neighborhood, Monday are day of the week that's very important, not only to the people but also the government. It is a day set aside to collect revenue and taxes. Huge amount of money are generated internally for the economic growth and development of the area. But now things have changed.

Mondays are now the most restful day in my region. People does not engage in official duties again. Banks are closed and market suffers too. Everyone is at home and play with another. How have changed "once a busy day" to a "restful day"? Was they forced or happy about it And What are the effects of this change?

Since the existence of Nigeria as a nationhood, Igbos have been most hated and lest accepted tribe in Nigeria. Although they are found every part of the country more than other tribe, politically they are been neglected. Many other factors leads to the frictional relationship between them and necessitates their demand for their separation as a nation which other tribes and foreign powers does not supported. It leads to the ungodly wars that strike down over three millions Igbos and other atrocities.

Still feel bad for what happened. There have never be any projects or event to cushion the feeling. Rather the marginalization continues. Igbos still want to be on their once a nation. Recently, an intelligent man trained by the British took up the mantle and demand his people's freedom. Others still don't want that to stand because that's the only notion that hold them together. Never have Soviet and western powers united except on Igbo's freedom.

He was arrested, deported illegally and have been locked up since then. His enemies are his judges and in their court that's where he is tried unjustly. Igbos then declared Monday's a restful day where everyone will sit at home, not engage in any official and important events. They said that it will be a culture till that man get his freedom like Mandela of South Africa did.

Why Mondays? Remember how important to the state governments and federal. It is a day where revenue of various kinds are gotten from the people. Sitting at home on that very day is a non-violent protests that's hurting them financially. Igbos still believe that it will pushed them to amend their ways and releases their brother unconditionally.

Although it was not easy or happy actions at the beginning, now people have be readjusted and have longer weekend including Mondays. In their streets and public places, they are enjoying themselves with several drinks and other items to be happy. They never stress themselves over official events. Now weddings are hosted on Monday which can't happen in any part of the world.

Finally

Mondays should be a day to make more money, not for rest. Government can earn money on that days for the economic growth and development. Matters that leads to this claims should be handled amicably but violently so that it will never leads to war again. Everyone can be treated equally and respectfully. We want peace and treatment politically fairly.
