Hay días normales, hay días difíciles,
hay días atípicos, hay días extraños, extraños días.

There are normal days, there are difficult days,
there are atypical days, there are strange days, strange days.

@marybellrg

Most of the time, when we wake up we expect it to be a good day, or if not, at least, that it is within normality. However, the day goes by and things happen that turn it into a tiring day, which ends up killing your optimism and leaves you, as we say in good Venezuelan, practically worn out.

I have the particularity that, when I have days of many strong emotions (setbacks, events, things do not go as expected, inconveniences that I did not expect), my emotional fatigue manifests itself as physical and produces exhaustion that makes me forget everything and want to go into the deepest and most restful sleep. That's how I am on days of exhaustion.

Yesterday was one of those days. The day looked normal as I always expect. A Tuesday with a very nice blue sky. It was the day they were coming to service the air conditioner in my room, which had turned into rain inside the room. I managed to gather the necessary money thanks to my savings in HBD and I decided to call the technician.

Jose and Freddy arrived on time. Despite recent family inconveniences (a brother who was saved from the covid after a deep gravity and whom they all as family care for), they made time and came to perform the pending work with my air.

The day began and the guys arrived with their amount of implements for the activity. The disassembly and cleaning of an air conditioner is not a piece of cake as we say over there. It takes detail and many tools, however, Jose is a great professional (the best in their area), very honest and explains every detail, does not lead you to spend more than required, and does excellent work besides being a great person.

Freddy on one side washing the unit and Jose on the other with the inside (the console) disassembling for cleaning. The air was really dirty, and they had to give it a good cleaning with the Hydrojet unit.

Everything was fine up to that point. Except for a few extra parts that needed to be replaced which required an additional ten dollars. Thank God, I had HBD saved from my publications and there was no hiccup to cover the expense.

Noon came and Tatannnnnn, the power went out. In Venezuela, this is a daily occurrence. However, in my area, it goes out and not for long. Certainly, after twenty minutes the power came back on. But José and Freddy decided to take that time to go buy the missing parts and have lunch, and then return to finish the job.

The power came back on and lasted about five minutes before going out again, this time not to return until 4 hours later. We were still waiting. Jose and Freddy returned with the purchased parts. They told me that they would do as much as they could to get everything ready for when the power came back on, test the air and get everything ready. They finished the repairs and the power didn't come back on.

I called the electric company's office and besides not answering the call, when they did answer, they did not even know how to give information (something typical in this type of company here).

My patience was running out thinking that the work would not be finished that day and that we would be left hanging with this for the next day. Jose and Freddy continued to wait, but the waiting time was running out. Miraculously at that moment, the power came back on and we were happy all too soon.

They finished putting in the plug for the light regulating device for the air conditioner and proceeded to test the connection. Oh, surprise! Only one phase had been reconnected and it was the 110 V light, not the 220 V light for the air conditioning. Absolute frustration. They had to keep waiting and time was running out. José and Freddy had to return home. They decided to leave everything ready for the next day to finish testing the air and adjust some things. My tiredness was evident.

There was nothing left to do but wait until today. The heat in the afternoon was not normal and the room where I sleep got extremely hot. I had to sleep with the fan.

However, at that moment I stopped to think, within the fatigue that overwhelmed me, the fact of being fortunate within the adversities of and is to have had the financial resources necessary to perform maintenance on my air conditioner. Apart from having had an excellent staff for this work. Not everything is bad on strange days if we stop to analyze the goodness of the moment.

We always usually stop to look at the bad and ignore the good. This was one of those strange days. Today they will come to test the air and last night, with exhaustion, I slept soundly and knew nothing until dawn. Being grateful for what you have in the midst of the bad, letting go, and moving on, was for me the learning of this strange day.
