Poco días después, se solucionó la situación con nuestros contratos y los trabajadores volvieron a sus labores, Ya en este punto, sabía quienes habían sido los responsables del daño a mí vehículo. Paso un poco más de tiempo y se presentó en mi oficina, precisamente el cabecilla de los facinerosos que la tomaron contra mí vehículo. Había llegado el momento de mi venganza.

Resulta que el amigo a quien llamaré Alberto, tenía una situación personal que involucraba una solución de manera inmediata para optar a los servicios de salud para un familiar. Conocía bien los procedimientos y podría hacer todo lo que hiciera falta para que no se le presentara tan fácil la solución al problema que estaba presentado con el seguro médico. Yo hice mi trabajo y le presté la atención que se merecía el amigo Alberto.

A few days later, the situation with our contracts was solved and the workers returned to their jobs. A little more time passed and the ringleader of the thugs who had damaged my vehicle showed up at my office. The time had come for my revenge.

It turns out that the friend, whom I will call Alberto, had a personal situation that involved an immediate solution to qualify for health services for a family member. I knew the procedures well and could do whatever it took to make it easier for him to solve the problem he was having with his health insurance. I did my job and gave my friend Alberto the attention he deserved.

Para el infortunio de nuestros trabajadores, al poco tiempo se terminaron los contratos con nuestros clientes y hubo que despedir a todo el personal. Algunos tranquilos, otros molestos y en general se logró liquidar a todos y pagarles sus prestaciones dinerarias por el tiempo de trabajo sin muchos inconvenientes. Nuevamente se presenta Alberto en mi oficina y después de hablar un rato sobre varios temas y recibir su cheque de liquidación, conversamos sobre el asunto de salud de su padre, para quien había solicitado mi atención antiguamente. Lamentablemente, su padre había fallecido a pesar de todo los esfuerzos que se realizaron para atenderlo.

Alberto cabizbajo me dice:
— Sabes Ramón, en aquella oportunidad que estuvimos cumpliendo horario aquí en la oficina, yo fui quien pincho los cauchos de tú vehículo con una navaja. Te pido disculpas por eso, porque estaba muy equivocado de la clase de persona que eras, ni siquiera te conocía, solo me deje llevar por las habladurías de mis compañeros. Pero todo lo que hiciste por mí y mi papá, no tengo manera de agradecértelo, más que pidiendo esta disculpa.

To the misfortune of our workers, shortly after the contracts with our clients were terminated and all the personnel had to be dismissed. Some were calm, others upset, but in general we were able to liquidate everyone and pay them their monetary benefits for the time they had worked without any inconveniences. Once again Alberto showed up at my office and after talking for a while about various issues and receiving his settlement check, we talked about his father's health issue, for whom he had requested my attention in the past. Unfortunately, his father had passed away in spite of all the efforts made to take care of him.

Alberto says to me with a crestfallen face:
— You know Ramón, on that occasion when we were working hours here at the office, I was the one who slashed the tires of your vehicle with a knife. I apologize for that, because I was very wrong about the kind of person you were, I didn't even know you, I just got carried away by the gossip of my colleagues. But everything you did for me and my dad, I have no way of thanking you, other than asking for this apology.

Ha sido uno de los momentos más emotivos de mi vida, porque cuando se me presento esa oportunidad de oro para demostrar que se puede confiar aun en la bondad de las personas, no dude en hacerlo. Ayude de manera especial a este amigo Alberto, para que pudiera acceder a ciertos beneficios y ventajas que le ofrecía el servicio de salud de la empresa y que muchos desconocían y claro esta, a la empresa no le convenía que lo supieran sus trabajadores. Hice todas las diligencias necesarias para que se le prestara la mejor atención al señor, el cual a pesar de todo, no logro vencer el cáncer que padecía.

It has been one of the most emotional moments of my life because when I was presented with this golden opportunity to show that you can trust even in the goodness of people, I did not hesitate to do it. I helped in a special way to this friend Alberto, so that he could access certain benefits and advantages offered by the health service of the company and that many did not know and of course, the company did not want its workers to know. I did all the necessary diligence so that the best attention was given to the gentleman, who in spite of everything, was not able to overcome cancer he was suffering from.
