It shows the culture, identity, food and uniqueness of each place. Today let me take you on a walk to a very popular market here in Tagaytay City, Philippines. The price is cheaper and always fresh daily. There are so many varieties of dried fish, shrimp and squid. It is sometimes difficult to choose what to buy with all the options. The Tawilis is a freshwater sardine that can only be caught here at Taal Lake. This species of the sardine cannot be found anywhere in the world. The taste is amazing and does not have a powerful fishy smell. They offer here dried and smoked Tawilis. Due to its high demand, the fish became endangered due to overfishing. To prevent the extinction, the local government enforced a strict fishing season to allow their numbers to recuperate. A lot of them I have not even heard of. I have never had any luck though in growing these herbs. I wanted to buy a couple of them so much but my wife is hesitant because she said that I am only killing the plants. My wife Mhel finally allowed me to buy a rosemary plant. I told the vendor that whenever I buy rosemary they always die on me. I was told that the correct way to raise it is not to water it unless the soil is already dry. She offered me a big rosemary plant that is almost a bush already and you can see that the trunk is already strong and woody. She told me that I could even allow it out in the rain. To those struggling to raise a rosemary plant, I suggest that you buy a big plant. Until now my rosemary plant is very much alive and growing.
