Mi nombre es José David Rodríguez, soy un chico Venezolano, nacido y criado en este país, más específicamente en Monagas. Tengo 21 años de edad y nací el 31 de Enero, en 2001.
Hello, Hive community!
My name is Jose David Rodriguez, I'm a Venezuelan guy, born and raised in this country, more specifically in Monagas. I'm 21 years old and I was born on January 31st, 2001.
Estaba estudiando en una universidad hasta hace dos años, para ser ingeniero electrónico. Recientemente terminé un curso de auxiliar de farmacia e hice mis pasantías en una farmacia donde aprendí bastante de medicamentos y de atención al cliente. Hice ese curso con la intención de aprender de medicinas y para incrementar e impulsar mi talento artístico: la escritura.
I was studying at a university until two years ago, to become an electronic engineer. I recently finished a pharmacy assistant course and did my internship in a pharmacy where I learned a lot about medicines and customer service. I did that course with the intention of learning about medicine and to increase and boost my artistic talent: writing.
Desde que soy un pequeño he sentido pasión por escribir, tengo una mente bastante imaginativa y va acompañada de un hambre de lectura constante. El primer proyecto literario que recuerdo fue cuando apenas estaba en primaria; se trató de un cuento corto que ganó el concurso de literatura en la escuela. De allí pasarían algunos años antes de que me pusiera manos a la obra con lo que sería mi primera obra publicada, que lo hice en conjunto con mi hermano Chemi, titulado "Sin Elemento", un libro de fantasía y ciencia ficción que tuvo buen receptividad en la plataforma donde la compartimos.
Ever since I was a little boy I have had a passion for writing, I have a very imaginative mind and it is accompanied by a constant hunger for reading. The first literary project I remember was when I was just in elementary school; it was a short story that won the literature contest at school. From there it would be a few years before I got down to work with what would be my first published work, which I did together with my brother Chemi, entitled "Sin Elemento", a book of fantasy and science fiction that was well received on the platform where we shared it.
En ese mismo periodo de "Sin Elemento", empecé a escribir dos proyectos más en solitario, ninguno de ellos vio la luz y quedaron solo para mí y una amiga, que fue quien los leyó y me decía que tenía un gran talento. El primero se llamaba "15 días en el infierno", un libro de suspenso y terror, y el segundo y uno de mis proyecto más personales, "Memorias de un día soleado", un libro de drama con formato de diario.
During that same period of "Sin Elemento", I started writing two more solo projects, neither of them saw the light of day and remained only for me and a friend, who read them and told me that I had a great talent. The first one was called "15 days in hell", a book of suspense and horror, and the second one, and one of my most personal projects, "Memories of a sunny day", a drama book with a diary format.
Pasarían muchos años, hasta inicios del 2021 que retomaría la escritura con el proyecto con el que estoy ahorita. Titulado "De paseo por el bosque", se trata de un libro en formato de cuentos que cuentan la historia de un misterioso pueblo rodeado de un aura tenebrosa.
Many years would pass, until the beginning of 2021, when I would resume writing with the project I am currently working on. Entitled "For a walk in the woods", it is a book in short story format that tells the story of a mysterious town surrounded by a dark aura.
Mi familia siempre ha sido un gran apoyo en cuanto a mi talento con la escritura, siempre los leían y me incentivaban a seguir explorando mi mente y sacando ideas tan extrañas, estrafalarias y emocionantes. Si tuvimos uno que otro percance por algunos personajes de mis proyectos que eran un poco controversiales, pero es algo que en la actualidad pueden entender mejor y me dan su apoyo por completo.
My family has always been very supportive of my writing talent, always reading them and encouraging me to keep exploring my mind and coming up with such strange, quirky and exciting ideas. We did have one or two mishaps because of some of the characters in my projects that were a bit controversial, but that is something they can understand better nowadays and they give me their full support.
Recientemente empecé un proyecto secreto, relacionado al universo de "De paseo por el bosque", titulado "El poemario perdido de Davi" (Sí, les estoy dando la primicia del título), y se trata de mi primera vez incursionando en la escritura de poesía, inspirado en mi poetisa favorita, Lana del Rey, y también en la melancólica Silvia Plath.
I recently started a secret project, related to the universe of "For a walk in the woods", entitled "Davi's lost poetry book" (Yes, I'm giving you the scoop on the title), and it's my first foray into writing poetry, inspired by my favorite poet, Lana del Rey, and also by the melancholic Silvia Plath.
Mi pasión por las artes no termina allí, porque aunque mi hermano es considerado el artista plástico con más experiencia en la familia, yo también hice cursos junto a él y he practicado mis dibujos. Considero que aunque no sea perfecto dibujando, lo hago bastante bien y poco a poco iré mejorando. Me gusta expandir mis conocimientos en artes porque el arte siempre ha sido un gran motivo para seguir adelante.
My passion for the arts does not end there, because although my brother is considered the most experienced plastic artist in the family, I also took courses with him and I have practiced my drawings. I consider that although I am not perfect at drawing, I do it quite well and little by little I will improve. I like to expand my knowledge in the arts because art has always been a great reason to keep going.

Con respecto a la escritura, siempre llevo mi pequeño cuaderno a la mano para poder escribir nuevas ideas que se me ocurren cuando estoy lejos de mi ordenador; está lleno de bocetos de dibujos y borradores de cuentos y poemas.
Regarding writing, I always keep my little notebook handy so I can write down new ideas that occur to me when I'm away from my computer; it's full of sketches of drawings and drafts of stories and poems.

Aunque siempre he sentido fuerte conexión con la música y con cantar, nunca me he atrevido porque no siento que ese sea mi verdadero talento artístico. Cuento con increíble presencia escénica y cuando bailo las coreografías de Lady Gaga en algunas fiestas, siempre recibo fuertes aplausos. El baile y la música es una parte que me gustaría explorar de mí, quizás un poco más adelante.
Although I have always felt a strong connection to music and singing, I have never dared because I don't feel that this is my true artistic talent. I have incredible stage presence and when I dance to Lady Gaga's choreography at some parties, I always get loud applause. Dancing and music is a part of me that I would like to explore, maybe a little later on.
He podido usar la escritura como un método para trabajar, haciendo ensayos y trabajos de investigación por encargos, y es algo por lo que estoy sumamente agradecido, en especial por el apoyo que recibí de mis padres para mi acceso a la educación, el apoyo moral de mis hermanos para atreverme a hacer ese tipo de trabajo y seguir expandiendo mi mente a nuevas ideas que me sirvan para los libros, el apoyo incondicional de mi mejor amigo, quien ha estado para mí en las buenas y en las malas, el apoyo de mi novio, quien se ha encargado de estar allí para mí, inspirándome y convirtiéndose en mi musa de la escritura.
I have been able to use writing as a method to work, doing essays and research papers for assignments, and it is something for which I am extremely grateful, especially for the support I received from my parents for my access to education, the moral support of my siblings to dare to do that kind of work and keep expanding my mind to new ideas that will serve me for books, the unconditional support of my best friend, who has been there for me through thick and thin, the support of my boyfriend, who has taken it upon himself to be there for me, inspiring me and becoming my writing muse.

Aun siento que me falta mucho por explorar de mí mismo, de mi escritura y mi imaginación, y es algo que espero poder compartir con ustedes, que puedan ver mi desarrollo como artista y logre ser la persona que sueño ser más adelante, siempre rodeado de hermosas personas que hacen de mi mundo un lugar mejor y lo llenan de colores.
I still feel that I still have a lot to explore about myself, my writing and my imagination, and it is something I hope to share with you, so that you can see my development as an artist and I can be the person I dream to be later on, always surrounded by beautiful people who make my world a better place and fill it with colors.

Mis metas acá en la comunidad de Hive son: Poder crecer como escritor, desarrollando nuevas técnicas, experimentado nuevos formatos y múltiples géneros literarios; Poder compartir con más personas mis proyectos literarios, sacándole un susto, una sonrisa o una lágrima a los lectores a los que pueda llegar; Crecer como artista plástico junto a ustedes, con mucha práctica y esfuerzo.
My goals here in the Hive community are: To be able to grow as a writer, developing new techniques, experimenting with new formats and multiple literary genres; To be able to share with more people my literary projects, bringing a scare, a smile or a tear to the readers I can reach; To grow as a visual artist together with you, with a lot of practice and effort.
Me siento bastante agradecido por poder formar parte de esta comunidad, y agradecido con la persona que me ayudó a lograrlo, una amiga que ahora es parte de mi familia, a quien amo y aprecio inmensamente, @fanxybeaut.
