Hoy comienzo con la 2da parte de esta interesante iniciativa propuesta por la amiga @nathyortiz, donde nos pide que hablemos de un libro diferente durante 7 días, esta vez pertenece a un libro que trata sobre historias reales. Les hablaré sobre "Paula", este libro esta escrito por Isabel Allende en homenaje a su hija Paula y donde tiene un tema autobiográfico.
Today I start with the 2nd part of this interesting initiative proposed by our friend @nathyortiz, where she asks us to talk about a different book for 7 days, this time it belongs to a book that deals with true stories. I will talk to you about "Paula", this book is written by Isabel Allende in tribute to her daughter Paula and where it has an autobiographical theme.

En este libro narra la historia de la trágica enfermedad de su hija Paula, ella padecía porfiria, una extraña enfermedad hereditaria. Un día llaman a Isabel Allende para decirle qué Paula había tenido una recaída ella estaba en una gira promocionando uno de sus libros y cuando ella se entera que Paula está en el hospital inmediatamente va a verla, cuándo Paula cae en coma, ella decidió escribirle en un cuaderno las vivencias, para que cuando Paula despertara podía leer todo lo que había pasado en esa época de ausencia porque obviamente ella tenía la esperanza de que su hija despertara y no sabía si ella iba a tener memoria al despertar.
In this book he tells the story of the tragic illness of his daughter Paula, who suffered from porphyria, a rare hereditary disease. One day they call Isabel Allende to tell her that Paula had had a relapse, she was on a tour promoting one of her books and when she finds out that Paula is in the hospital she immediately goes to see her, when Paula falls into a coma, she decided to write her experiences in a notebook, so that when Paula woke up she could read everything that had happened in that time of absence because obviously she had the hope that her daughter would wake up and she did not know if she would have memory when she woke up.
Paula tenía 28 años y poco tiempo de casada. Cuando a Isabel le informa que Paula tiene muerte cerebral que no va a despertar del coma, entonces le dicen que Paula ya no escucha, ya no siente, que su cerebro está prácticamente muerto que no había nada que hacer, ella toma la decisión de tenerle en su casa en California, para así cuando muera esté en compañía de toda su familia.
Paula was 28 years old and had been married for a short time. When Isabel was informed that Paula was brain dead and would not wake up from the coma, she was told that Paula no longer listened, no longer felt, that her brain was practically dead and that there was nothing to be done, she decided to keep him in her home in California, so that when she died she would be in the company of all her family.
En este libro hay capítulos dedicado a Paula, otro a la historia de la familia de Isabel Allende. Cuenta cuando su madre se casa con el primo de Salvador Allende quién fue presidente de Chile, como su madre se separó de su marido una vergüenza para esa época y cómo ella va vivir con sus abuelos durante gran parte de su infancia. La progresión de la historia nos permite aprender más sobre Paula, Isabel y el resto de la familia Allende. Además, nos enseña mucho sobre la muerte y cómo pensar en ella, lo cual es muy significativo para nuestro futuro.
In this book there are chapters dedicated to Paula, another one to the history of Isabel Allende's family. It tells when her mother marries Salvador Allende's cousin who was president of Chile, how her mother separated from her husband a disgrace for that time and how she will live with her grandparents for much of her childhood. The progression of the story allows us to learn more about Paula, Isabel and the rest of the Allende family. In addition, it teaches us a lot about death and how to think about it, which is very significant for our future.
En este maravilloso libro sufres con ella su dolor porque lo cuenta de una manera muy dolorosa, relata lo fuerte qué es para una madre saber que su hija va a morir, todo ese proceso de forma muy prolongado, casi seis meses, todo el deterioro que sufrió Paula y finalmente el momento en que ella siente que Paula va a morir. De todas sus obras esta sin duda es la más triste, más honesta y natural.
Hay una frase que cuando la leí me conmovió “El dolor es inevitable en el paso por esta vida, pero dicen que casi siempre es tolerable si no se le opone resistencia y no se agregan miedo y angustia”.
In this wonderful book you suffer her pain with her because she tells it in a very painful way, she relates how strong it is for a mother to know that her daughter is going to die, all that process in a very prolonged way, almost six months, all the deterioration that Paula suffered and finally the moment when she feels that Paula is going to die. Of all her works, this is undoubtedly the saddest, most honest and natural.
There is a phrase that when I read it moved me "Pain is inevitable in the passage through this life, but they say that it is almost always tolerable if you do not resist it and do not add fear and anguish".
