Ogier won Monte Carlo Rallye 2021

Hi, friends!

When you win World Rally Championship for seven times and Monte Carlo Rallye for eight times, then no one can say anything then we deal with the current best in the world. Don't forget that Monte is probably the hardest rally on the globe because of all the changeable conditions in the French Alps and you really must have knowledge and luck to choose the best option of tires for whole loop of special stages in the following loop.

Frenchman Seb Ogier is really the best in the last eight or nine years but when I recall my memories from his first Junior WRC rally in Mexico in 2008, I wasn't that impressed. I thought he won it because there was no real competition because of lower number of entrants. Well, I was wrong.

The only real opponent for him at this moment is Elfyn Evans because Welshman is doing really great job from the moment he signed for Toyota. Toyota has a strong car and their 1-2 result is just evidence for what I wrote here.

To be more precise, they have four cars in the top 6 because Kalle Rovanpera finished 4th and Takamoto Karsuta finished in the 6th position.

Hyundai's Thierry Neuville finishe on the last step of the podium - 3rd place and that was really good because he started on Thursday with the new co-driver, without single km of testing on the special stages.

Dani Sordo was kinda reserved for Hyundai and he finished 5th which was good for the team after Ott Tanak retired previously because of no spare tires after double puncture on the special stages.

The best of Rally2 class was for Andreas Mikkelsen who finished 7th overall which was best R5/Rally2 car of the weekend.
