Fire Burn 🔥

I captured this image on the last night of the Wide Open Space festival (@wos.fest) near Alice Springs last week.
The festival site is located at Ross River Resort (situated in the foothills of the amazing McDonnell Ranges).
At the festival's opening ceremony, an Arrernte elder requested that ticketholders show their respect to the traditional owners of the land and not climb the surrounding mountains.
There was one hill though (close to the festival) that punters had permission to climb, so on the last night I took some friends up there to do some light painting under the Milky Way.
While we were up there, a man appeared out of the shadows and approached us to see what we were up to. He was Oliver Eclipse (@eclipse8me one of the official festival photographers) who was up on the hill capturing an amazing timelapse of the stars over the festival.
He sat for a while and watched us light paint around each other, and then stood up and asked if he could have a go too. We chatted about poses and which tools to use, and then settled on using a @lightpaintingbrushes black fibre-optic brush to try and set him on fire.

This was the result.

In the background you can kind of see cars and lights from the festival.

Single exposure:
10mm, f/4.5
ISO-3200, 30secs

Torch used with the fibre brush was the Lightpainter from @lightpaintingparadise (use code RODEVANS for 10% off at checkout).
