The Cow Shed Lightpainting Experience

A few nights ago, whilst on a recce to another location for lightpainting, we stumbled across this cow shed or barn which appeared to be in a state of disrepair. We had a quick look around to see if there were any bulls in the field or an angry farmer with a 12 bore shotgun. Once the coast was clear we nipped inside the cow shed and knew right away this would be a great place for a spot of lightpainting:

We returned this evening with a box of fireworks. First I lit the firework mounted on a wooden pole attached to a drill on a spindle. (Don't try this at home kids!) I then made my way back to the camera in total darkness and fired the flashgun at the back of the model. I then shone a red gelled flashlight over the sides to light up the roof. As usual, this was all shot in one photographic exposure and is not a composite image.

About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
