The greatest reward of giving is on the moral and not the financial side of the leaflet. You get the impression that you are frank with God. You obtain an understanding that you are in collaboration with God — that you work constructively — that you work for Him for the good of the world. You can still hang on to the goods of this world freely because everlasting ideals are still in view. How are you going to give? Is it liberal and joyous? Or is it sparingly and rebelliously? If you give God the residue of your substance and life, the true joy and blessing of Christian giving may not be yours..
