Salmos 91:1 Los que viven al amparo del Altísimo encontrarán descanso a la sombra del Todopoderoso.
2 Declaro lo siguiente acerca del Señor: Solo él es mi refugio, mi lugar seguro; él es mi Dios y en él confío.
3 Te rescatará de toda trampa y te protegerá de enfermedades mortales.
Al despertar cada mañana, nos sometemos a una cantidad de riesgos impensados, aun en las situaciones más comunes, y salimos airosos de muchas de ellos porque ponemos atención, cayendo en algunas trampas cuando nos descuidamos.
El enemigo no puede entrar a nuestra vida si no le es permitido, por lo que debemos saber cómo y quién le da permiso para obrar en nosotros.
En nuestra vida, el único que puede dar permiso al enemigo para obrar es el Altísimo, poniéndole límites a su rango de acción, es decir, le dice cuál área es la que puede afectar, y gracias al Señor que es así, porque si dependiera de nosotros, todas las áreas de nuestra vida serían un desastre.
Un ejemplo de esta afirmación la encontramos en el libro de Job:
Job 1: 12—Muy bien, puedes probarlo —dijo el Señor a Satanás—. Haz lo que quieras con todo lo que posee, pero no le hagas ningún daño físico. Entonces Satanás salió de la presencia del Señor.
Job 2: 4 Satanás respondió al Señor: —¡Piel por piel! Cualquier hombre renunciaría a todo lo que tiene para salvar su vida. 5 Así que extiende tu mano y quítale la salud, ¡ten por seguro que te maldecirá en tu propia cara! 6—Muy bien, haz con él lo que quieras —dijo el Señor a Satanás—, pero no le quites la vida.
En estos dos pasajes vemos al Señor permitiendo obrar en la vida de Job, primero en sus posesiones y luego en su salud, todo con el fin de tener un encuentro personal con Job, además de avergonzar de nuevo al enemigo.
Job era un hombre perfecto y temeroso del Señor (Job 1:8), es decir, se esforzaba en cumplir los mandamientos y de mantenerse alejado del mal, pero sus hijos no demostraban la misma reverencia que Job, y presumimos que sus siervos tampoco, por lo que el primer objetivo del enemigo fue quitar la vida de los hijos de Job, la de sus siervos, así como quitarle su ganado, procurando causar la mayor cantidad de heridas posibles al alma de Job, quien solo manifestó: «Desnudo salí del vientre de mi madre, y desnudo estaré cuando me vaya. El Señor me dio lo que tenía, y el Señor me lo ha quitado. ¡Alabado sea el nombre del Señor!». (Job 1:21).
El cebo en este caso fue el dolor y la trampa era hacerlo blasfemar el nombre del Señor. Job miró el cebo, pero no cayó en la trampa, porque mirar el cebo no es pecado, pero comerlo si nos lleva al pecado. En este sentido, revisemos lo que dice el Señor por medio del Apóstol Santiago:
Santiago 1: 13 Cuando sean tentados, acuérdense de no decir: «Dios me está tentando». Dios nunca es tentado a hacer el mal y jamás tienta a nadie. 14 La tentación viene de nuestros propios deseos, los cuales nos seducen y nos arrastran. 15 De esos deseos nacen los actos pecaminosos, y el pecado, cuando se deja crecer, da a luz la muerte.
Las tentaciones llegan a nuestro corazón y son procesados por nuestra mente, lo contrario sería actuar por instinto, igual que un animal, es decir, ser un estúpido (Gálatas 3:1), es por este motivo que el Señor nos dice que no nos embriaguemos, ya que eso produce una separación entre la mente y el corazón, tal como reza el siguiente pasaje:
Efesios 5: 17 No actúen sin pensar, más bien procuren entender lo que el Señor quiere que hagan. 18 No se emborrachen con vino, porque eso les arruinará la vida. En cambio, sean llenos del Espíritu Santo 19 cantando salmos e himnos y canciones espirituales entre ustedes, y haciendo música al Señor en el corazón.
Si ponemos atención a las celebraciones paganas, lo que más resalta es la presencia de sustancias estupefacientes o alucinógenas, es decir, aquellas que producen la alteración del ánimo de las personas y su percepción de la realidad. Es por ellos que las personas deprimidas son las más fáciles de atrapar con este tipo de cebo, en pocas palabas, una persona que se sienta alegre no comerá el cebo de este tipo de sustancias que buscan hacer caer en la trampa de las adicciones.
Por lo general, las personas que están atrapadas no son conscientes de esa situación, creen que son libres de elegir el momento para salir de la trampa porque confían en su sabiduría, pero veamos lo que dice el Señor:
2 Timoteo 2: 25 Instruye con ternura a los que se oponen a la verdad. Tal vez Dios les cambie el corazón, y aprendan la verdad. 26 Entonces entrarán en razón y escaparán de la trampa del diablo. Pues él los ha tenido cautivos, para que hagan lo que él quiere.
El único que los puede rescatar de la trampa del maligno es el Altísimo, pero primero la víctima debe entender que está cautivo, y solo sabrá su condición cuando conozca a alguien libre, pero ¿Quién está libre del pecado? El discípulo del Señor, según este pasaje:
Juan 8: 31 Jesús le dijo a la gente que creyó en él: —Ustedes son verdaderamente mis discípulos si se mantienen fieles a mis enseñanzas; 32 y conocerán la verdad, y la verdad los hará libres.
Ser un creyente no te hace discípulo, porque incluso los demonios creen y tiemblan, pero no obedecen, mientras que el discípulo se somete a la disciplina del Señor. Revisemos el siguiente pasaje:
Santiago: 2:19 Tú dices tener fe porque crees que hay un solo Dios. ¡Bien hecho! Aun los demonios lo creen y tiemblan aterrorizados. 20 ¡Qué tontería! ¿Acaso no te das cuenta de que la fe sin buenas acciones es inútil?
Creer sin actuar no sirve para nada, porque ¿Quién que tenga hambre no se acerca a la comida y la come? Así mismo el que dice tener fe en el Señor, se somete a su voluntad.
Otro cebo común es la ira, porque esta provoca que los demonios entren a nuestra vida de manera legal, es decir, prácticamente le damos permiso para que vengan a obrar. Así vemos que una persona que ha sido traicionada por su cónyuge, busca vengarse con el adulterio, cayendo en pecado y dando paso a la muerte; otro ejemplo es alguien que ha sido ofendido, busca vengarse por medio del homicidio, y aun cuando no lo consume físicamente, por lo general lo hace en su corazón ¿Acaso has visto a hermanos que no se tratan? Ya son cautivos del maligno y solo pueden salir cuando el Señor los rescate.
Ya el Señor me rescató y soy libre para glorificar su nombre ¿Tú eres libre?
Psalm 91:1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I declare this about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my safe place; he is my God, and in him I trust.
3 He will rescue you from every snare and protect you from deadly diseases.
When we wake up every morning, we subject ourselves to a number of unthinkable risks, even in the most common situations, and we get out of many of them because we pay attention, falling into some traps when we are careless.
The enemy cannot enter our life if he is not allowed to, so we must know how and who gives him permission to work in us.
In our life, the only one who can give permission to the enemy to act is the Most High, putting limits to his range of action, that is, he tells him which area he can affect, and thank the Lord that this is so, because if it depended on us, all areas of our life would be a disaster.
An example of this statement is found in the book of Job:
Job 1: 12-All right, you can prove it," said the Lord to Satan. Do what you will with all that he possesses, but do him no physical harm. Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Job 2: 4 Satan said to the Lord, "Skin for skin! Any man would give up everything he has to save his life. 5So stretch out your hand and take away his health; be sure he will curse you to your face! 6-All right, do with him as you wish," said the Lord to Satan, "but do not take his life.
In these two passages we see the Lord allowing Himself to work in Job's life, first in his possessions and then in his health, all in order to have a personal encounter with Job, as well as to put the enemy to shame again.
Job was a perfect man and feared the Lord (Job 1:8), that is, he strove to keep the commandments and to keep away from evil, but his children did not show the same reverence as Job, and we presume that his servants did not either, so the first objective of the enemy was to take the lives of Job's children, that of his servants, as well as to take his livestock, trying to cause as many wounds as possible to the soul of Job, who only manifested: "Naked I came forth from my mother's womb, and naked shall I be when I depart. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord hath taken it from me: praise the name of the Lord!" (Job 1:21).
The bait in this case was pain and the trap was to make him blaspheme the name of the Lord. Job looked at the bait, but did not fall into the trap, because looking at the bait is not sin, but eating it does lead to sin. In this sense, let us review what the Lord says through the Apostle James:
James 1: 13 When you are tempted, remember not to say, "God is tempting me." God is never tempted to do evil and never tempts anyone. 14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which seduce us and drag us away. 15 From these desires sinful acts are born, and sin, when allowed to grow, gives birth to death.
The temptations come to our heart and are processed by our mind, the opposite would be to act by instinct, just like an animal, that is, to be stupid (Galatians 3:1), it is for this reason that the Lord tells us not to get drunk, since that produces a separation between the mind and the heart, as the following passage says:
Ephesians 5: 17 Do not act without thinking, but rather seek to understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Do not get drunk with wine, for that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
If we pay attention to pagan celebrations, what stands out the most is the presence of narcotic or hallucinogenic substances, that is to say, those that produce the alteration of people's mood and their perception of reality. It is for them that depressed people are the easiest to catch with this type of bait, in a few words, a person who feels happy will not eat the bait of this type of substances that seek to make fall into the trap of addictions.
Usually, people who are trapped are not aware of that situation, they believe they are free to choose the time to get out of the trap because they trust in their wisdom, but let's see what the Lord says:
2 Timothy 2: 25 Instruct with tenderness those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change their hearts, and they will learn the truth. 26 Then they will come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil. For he has held them captive, so that they will do what he wants them to do.
The only one who can rescue them from the trap of the evil one is the Most High, but first the victim must understand that he is a captive, and he will only know his condition when he meets someone free, but who is free from sin? The disciple of the Lord, according to this passage:
John 8: 31 Jesus said to the people who believed in him, -You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Being a believer does not make you a disciple, because even the demons believe and tremble, but do not obey, whereas the disciple submits to the discipline of the Lord. Let us review the following passage:
James: 2:19 You claim to have faith because you believe that there is only one God. well done! Even the demons believe it and tremble in terror. 20 What nonsense! Don't you realize that faith without good deeds is useless?
Belief without action is useless, for who is hungry does not go to the food and eat it? Likewise he who claims to have faith in the Lord, submits himself to his will.
Another common bait is anger, because it provokes the demons to enter our life in a legal way, that is, we practically give them permission to come and work. Thus we see that a person who has been betrayed by his spouse, seeks revenge through adultery, falling into sin and giving way to death; another example is someone who has been offended, seeks revenge through homicide, and even if it does not consume him physically, it usually does so in his heart. They are already captives of the evil one and can only come out when the Lord rescues them.
The Lord has already rescued me and I am free to glorify his name Are you free?
