Celebrando el Día del Trabajador (Esp/Ing)

¡Hola, Hola! ¿Cómo está mi gente bella? El primero de mayo fue el Día Internacional del trabajador. Esta fecha se celebra en Venezuela y en otros países. Como es costumbre este día lo aprovecha más de uno para poder tomarse un descanso y poder disfrutar con sus amigos o familiares.

Hello hello! How are my beautiful people? May 1st was International Workers' Day. This date is celebrated in Venezuela and other countries. As is customary, more than one person takes advantage of this day to take a break and enjoy with their friends or family.

En el colegio donde trabajo se hizo un compartir con todo el personal . Cada quien colaboró para hacer una sopa de pollo con huesos ahumados, pero al estilo cumanés, le añadiríamos lentejas. Ese día al llegar al colegio, vi que no había llegado casi nadie, entonces le pregunté a la secretaria: ¿Qué pasó, se suspendió el compartir? "No vale, los profesores salieron a comprar las cosas", eso me respondió. Ahí mismo pensé: "esto va a terminar bien tarde, bueno ya estoy aquí". Que costumbre dejar todo para última hora, lo cual me disgustó un poco, pero no al punto de arruinar la celebración.

At the school where I work, there was a sharing with all the staff. Everyone collaborated to make a chicken soup with smoked bones, but in Cumanese style, we would add lentils. That day when I arrived at school, I saw that almost no one had arrived, so I asked the secretary: What happened, was the sharing suspended? "It's not okay, the teachers went out to buy the things," that's what he told me. Right there I thought: "this is going to end very late, well I'm here." What a custom to leave everything until the last minute, which upset me a little, but not to the point of ruining the celebration.

Después de hora y media llegaron todos, nos pusimos los patines para hacer la sopa lo más rápido posible. Éramos trece personas en el lugar, parecíamos hormiguitas trabajadoras. Los tres hombres se encargaron del montar el fogón. Las mujeres se encargaron de picar la verdura, el guiso, el pollo y limpiar los huesos ahumados.

After an hour and a half everyone arrived, we put on our skates to make the soup as quickly as possible. There were thirteen of us in the place, we looked like little hard-working ants. The three men were in charge of setting up the stove. The women were in charge of chopping the vegetables, the stew, the chicken and cleaning the smoked bones.

Se montó la olla con las lentejas y las mazorcas, después de media hora se le agregaron las verduras. La directora llevó una torta y un quesillo para compartir. También llegó el vigilante con refresco y aguacates. Así que tendríamos un gran almuerzo con postre incluído.

The pot was assembled with the lentils and cobs, after half an hour the vegetables were added. The director brought a cake and a cheese to share. The guard also arrived with soda and avocados. So we would have a great lunch with dessert included.

Luego se ordenó todo y nos sentamos a esperar que se cocinara la sopa y a recordar tantas cosas que vivimos en el trascurso del año escolar y reímos con las ocurrencias de los niños, también recordamos el accidente que tuve y todavía estoy en recuperación. La pasamos increíble, fue algo diferente, estuvimos tranquilos y relajados.

Then everything was ordered and we sat down to wait for the soup to cook and remember so many things that we experienced during the course of the school year and we laughed at the children's occurrences, we also remembered the accident I had and I am still recovering. We had an incredible time, it was something different, we were calm and relaxed.

Una de las maestras fue la que prestó la olla, así que para ella doble ración 😊. Todo terminó a las dos de la tarde, empezamos a recoger para marcharnos, la olla quedó tan tiznada que la maestra la dejó para llevársela después, ya que se ensuciaría la ropa y podrían llamar María la del barrio, nos reímos de esa ocurrencia.

One of the teachers was the one who lent the pot, so she made a double portion 😊. It all ended at two in the afternoon, we started to pick up to leave, the pot was so dirty that the teacher left it to take it later, since her clothes would get dirty and they could call Maria from the neighborhood, we laughed at that occurrence .

Sin duda, fue un día extraordinario, trabajar para educar a otros es una tarea dignificante, estoy muy satisfecha siendo parte de este colectivo. Feliz día del trabajador para ustedes -aunque un poco tarde, siempre es buen momento para reconocer el mérito de los demás-, mis mejores deseos, y aquellos que no tienen trabajo que lo encuentren muy pronto.
