Hay ocasiones muy especiales en las que mi familia se reúne para celebrar. Muy a pesar de las dificultades, adversidades y reveses, siempre nos hemos mantenido unidos; tengo muchos familiares, pero el núcleo más cercano se resume en mi abuela, su hija mayor (mi tía) y sus hijas e hijo (mis primas y primo). Somos más integrantes, desde luego, pero hay una conexión mayor con los que actualmente viven en el mismo pueblo que yo. There are very special occasions when my family gets together to celebrate. Very much in spite of difficulties, adversities and setbacks, we have always remained united; I have many relatives, but the closest nucleus is summarized in my grandmother, her eldest daughter (my aunt) and her daughters and son (my cousins and cousin). Eso fue lo que enamoró a mi abuelo, un joven libanés que para aquel entonces descubría un país del cual ya se sentía parte. De aquella herencia combinada nació mi papá y más tarde, nací yo. La familia por parte de mi papá nunca fue sesgada con respecto a su linaje, más bien, amaban la belleza que se desprendía (y se sigue desprendiendo) de la estirpe venezolana. Tal vez por eso somos un país de mucho mestizaje.
Mi tía, una costurera bastante adiestrada, confeccionó el vestido que mi abuela usó en sus cumpleaños. Ella quiso ponerse un cintillo de esos que dicen: "feliz cumpleaños", así que la complacimos. Estaba muy guapa ese día.

My grandmother is a woman of good taste; elegance has always characterized her, something that, according to her, she inherited from my great-grandmother, who was Spanish. That is what made my grandfather, a young Lebanese who at that time was discovering a country he already felt part of, fall in love with her. Mis primas y tía se alegraron muchísimo con nuestra visita. Me dijeron que estaba bastante cambiado, e incluso bromearon con la posibilidad de mis muchas novias, algo muy alejado de la realidad jajaja. Aproveché para tomarme fotos con estas. En nuestras reuniones familiares nunca pueden faltar las fotografía, es casi que tradicional. Una de mis primas hizo los pasteles y la decoración, pues su hija también estaba cumpliendo un añito.
¡Fueron dos cumpleaños en uno!
Siempre repetimos las fotos porque a alguien no le gusta como sale o piensa que no está lo suficientemente fotogénico. Yo siempre digo: "la cámara no hace milagros" y todos se echan a reír, aunque yo no lo digo solo por humor (😂). Esta vez, a todos nos gustó el resultado de la cámara.

My cousins and aunt were very happy with our visit. They told me that I was quite changed, and even joked with the possibility of my many girlfriends, something very far from reality hahaha. I took the opportunity to take pictures with them. In our family reunions you can never miss the pictures, it is almost traditional. El resto del momento lo pasamos relatando viejas historias, de esas que recuerdan momentos viejos de la infancia y las travesuras. Había música de Ana Gabriel, la cantante favorita de mi abuela.
