Dewan Hakka in Sandakan transformed into a centre of energy and inspiration on September 16 and 17, 2023, when a spectacular Cosplay Event was held there. Anime fans, collectors, artists, and families all came together for a weekend of cosplay magic at this event, which StamaX Club and HobbyCon jointly organised.
My family and I had the pleasure of attending my daughter's painting and drawing booth, where I got the opportunity to personally experience the energetic environment and see the strength of creativity and community.
A beautiful variety of artistic exhibitions were on display throughout the event. The distinctive skills and limitless imagination of the participants were evident in every booth. Among these, the art and drawing-focused booth run by my daughter drew both other collectors and art fans.
It was heartwarming to see her passion for art being appreciated and admired by visitors who were captivated by her intricate and skillful artwork.
The participants' commitment and attention to detail were evident in their costumes, props, and visual artworks, which demonstrated how fully the event embraced the spirit of artistic expression.
Characters from many forms came to life through cosplay, which was the main attraction. People of various ages and backgrounds dressed up as their favourite fictional characters, capturing the spirit of those characters with amazing passion and precision.
The amount of skill displayed in the costumes was nothing short of astounding, from the ornate armour to the exquisite hairstyles and cosmetics. People were transported into a world of fantasy and wonder as they engaged with their favourite heroes and heroines, recording moments of delight and admiration.
The Cosplay Event promoted a strong sense of community and friendship in addition to the visual spectacle. Participants freely interact with one another, discussing their love of cosplay and swapping advice.

It was wonderful to see families connect over same interests and make priceless memories.
Moreover, the Cosplay Event acted as a reunion for many, offering an opportunity to reconnect with friends. As I navigated through the venue, familiar faces emerged, sparking conversations filled with laughter and reminiscing.
