INTRODUCTION
Twinned with a great responsibility, we were born yesterday. Though we cannot decide whose family are we going to be born but we can decide what to become in the future. One thing is for sure, we came into being no matter where, when, and how it becomes possible, nevertheless, each man is quite fashioned by a Designer, crafted even beyond human's perfect imagination. What I am about to unveil is the story of a naugty and never a serious type of a person but his encounter led to a detour of his life interestingly.
Sir Jun Nel Mark Mangoba was born on May 5, 1990, in San Vicente Sotto, Memorial Medical Center, Cebu City to his parents, Mr. Cornelio Mangoba and Mrs. Andresa Mamolang Mangoba. He was the third child, and though he was raised not in a rich family before, but they were known in the community for having a good reputation in the neighborhood because of their conservative and respectful life living in service to God and men.
CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
There were times that, as a kid, he would take his parents' advice for granted. For him, those were just parenting style so traditional and boring. Additionally, being serious and passionate about serving the Lord, was of no significance. Despite the fact that he would go and attend to some church gatherings gatherings, lectures, trainings etc. with church mates but it was all because of his compliance to his parents and not his will. Never once did it sink in to his head that there was a far greater purpose to having amiable comradeship with them than fellowship assembly, feeding on kids, counselling, chanting, feasting, hopping on the beach oftentimes, and so forth.
As a School Learner
Most of the teachers in his school lodged complaints about his behavior. Accordingly, he was so hyperactive, hence unstoppably on the move, acting so thrilled and jittery around the classroom and even outside, especially during break times. His classmates, too, moaned about his extra-active restlessness. Despite being so exuberant, 😅 he has a kind and generous heart. He just can't subdue his energy. At home, it was his sole duty to go fetch some water and sprinkle the plants with it. Oftentimes, playing basketball games as his ardent interest with his pals during his free time.
Furthermore, there was one occasion in his life, though it was amusing to think back on, yet motivating, I bet, when he encountered a brawl with a certain classmate, which consequently led him to stop school. Such a tough decision, but it was indeed an integral act of discipline from his parents. As a youngster, he had committed a lot of infractions that, at times, caused his parents to become furious and upset.😔
TEENAGE MEMORIES
Sir Jun Nel had his first course of engineering. However, it was a difficult course thus he later, shifted to BSHRM; from the latter, he graduated and landed his first job in the US.
I could say that his stay in abroad was a merry-gloomy juxtaposed ride, because there he fought with homesickness and surprisingly missed the church gatherings that he attended with his family. Such a blessing, indisguise.
He traveled to a few countries, like California, Us, and New Zealand, the latter, where his elder sisters Em2x, together with her family, and Ruthjean reside. On those international excursions, he experienced the glee and enjoyment that these countries had to offer.
However, held by intuition, he came back to his home land in 2016. Sir Jun Nel began to pull out all the stops. He did not miss a chance to attend church functions anymore, mainly the youth conferences. Simultaneously, he had processed his credentials to work for Canada, but the eagerness was fading in the long run as he took all the chances to devote most of his time to the things he loved most. In short, he drove himself to the limit with extreme excitement with the Lord
TURNING POINT
He could not figure out what was happening to him. He was perplexed by his abrupt change of heart. There's a strange hunger, yearning and burning inside, which towed him to defer to his heart's cry. Certain of his decision, Sir Jun Nel set up an appointment with the Canadian Embassy to hear out his final resolution.
"Into Bible School"
He packed up his suitcase and took off on a flight at Cebu Pacific Airlines in 2017 bound to Manila to study in ACTS, a Bible school. Being a student was a moment of mixed emotion, a conflicting feeling of elation, comfort, and tension. Indeed, the next few months were a rollercoaster trip of sudden, profound transformations within himself. Thus, early in the morning, he wailed for a divine guidance, and it was a cathartic release on his end. Moving on, his rich experience as a student and its vastness beyond words were interminably life-changing.
REFLECTION
Truly, we are a masterpiece! God sees potential in us that we cannot grasp. He has shaped and prepared us to fulfill His preplanned goal. On his end, he was never desirous of becoming someone in service to the Lord, for he knew how hard it is to become one since he was a witness to all the pains and insurmountable struggles of his father.
