Hace poco adquirí una figura de Batman de McFarlane Toys; por supuesto, este es mi personaje (en lo que a superhéroes se refiere) favorito, así que añadí a este amigo a mi pequeña colección.

I recently acquired a Batman figure from McFarlane Toys; of course, this is my favorite (superhero-wise) character, so I added this friend to my little collection.
Para quien no lo sepa, McFarlane es uno de los fabricantes a la vanguardia de figuras coleccionables articuladas, y se centra principalmente en su línea DC Multiverse. Concretamente, esta del caballero de la noche pertenece a línea Page Punchers que, entre otras cosas, incluye un cómic (en inglés). He de admitir que, en principio, mi idea original era venderla, ya que la conseguí a buen precio, pero opté por conservarla. Esta fue la mejor decisión, puesto que es una belleza.

For those who don't know, McFarlane is one of the manufacturers at the forefront of articulated collectible figures, and focuses mainly on its DC Multiverse line, specifically, this one of the Dark Knight belongs to the Page Punchers wave which, among other things, includes a comic (in English). I have to admit that, at first, my original idea was to sell it, since I got it at a good price, but I opted to keep it; and this was the best decision because it is a beauty.
Esta figura en particular está basada en la versión de Batman de una de las más recientes historias de Black Adam (uno de los antihéroes más populares de DC). Además del ya mencionado cómic, incluyó un batarang, la base típica de McFarlane que, aunque realmente no hace falta para que se mantenga de pie, no está de más, y la tarjeta con información del personaje, también usual de este fabricante.

This particular figure is based on the Batman version of one of the most recent Black Adam stories (one of DC's most popular anti-heroes). In addition to the aforementioned comic, it included a batarang, the typical McFarlane base which, although not really needed for him to stand up, is not superfluous, and the character information card, also usual from this manufacturer.
El primer aspecto que me gusta destacarle es el gran acabado en pintura y estructuctura, especialmente del rostro. Por lo general este tipo de figuras tienden a lucir un poco extrañas en cuanto a ese último punto; sin embargo no es este el caso. Casi con total seguridad afirmaría que es la pieza de McFarlane con mejor esculpido en el rostro, por lo menos de DC Multiverse.

The first aspect I like to point out is the great paint finish and structure, especially the face. Usually these types of figures tend to look a little strange in terms of that last point; however this is not the case. I would almost certainly say that this is the McFarlane piece with the best sculpted face, at least of DC Multiverse.
Además de lo antes mencionado, son esos pequeños elementos hechos con sumo detalle, como el símbolo del murciélago en el pecho, las puntas en los antebrazos o el baticinturón, o la conformación de la capa, que está hecha de un plástico diferente, mucho más flexible, casi maleable, los que hacen de esta figura algo superior entre las de su clase.

In addition to the aforementioned, it is those small elements made with great detail, such as the bat symbol on the chest, the spikes on the forearms or the belt, or the shape of the cape, which is made of a different plastic, much more flexible, almost malleable, that make this figure superior among its class.
Por otro lado, su extensa cantidad de puntos de articulación con un gran ángulo permiten acomodarle en diferentes poses. En total le conté 20, a pesar de que la descripción del producto en línea dice que tiene 22. Algunos son mucho más móviles que otros, pero los más importantes (hombros, codos y piernas) están bastante bien. Quizá el mayor fallo estuvo en la cabeza, que si bien puede abarcar alrededor de 180° de izquierda a derecha, de arriba a bajo, por el contrario, apenas puede moverse.

On the other hand, his extensive amount of articulation points with a wide angle allow to accommodate him in different poses. In total I counted 20, even though the online product description says it has 22. Some are much more mobile than others, but the most important ones (shoulders, elbows and legs) are quite good. Perhaps the biggest flaw was in the head, which while it can span about 180° from left to right, from top to bottom, on the other hand, it can barely move at all.
Por último, y no menos importante, está el cómic, el cual he de admitir que también me decepcionó un poco. Sabía de antemano que el protagonista sería Black Adam sin embargo me esperaba mayor aparición de Batman. No obstante, en cuanto al dibujo y la gama de colores es un excelente ejemplar con una historia entretenida que incluye a varios de los personajes más encomiables de DC, además de Batman, como Superman o John Constantine. Esto sumado a la figura en sí, en mi opinión como fanático con un poco de conocimiento sobre el mundo de coleccionables en general, hace que sea un adquisición que valga la pena completamente.

Last but not least is the comic, which I have to admit I was also a bit disappointed. I knew beforehand that the main character would be Black Adam however I was expecting more appearance of Batman. Nevertheless, in terms of drawing and color palette it is an excellent issue with an entertaining story that includes several of DC's most commendable characters, besides Batman, such as Superman or John Constantine. This added to the figure itself, in my opinion as a fan with a little knowledge about the world of collectibles in general, makes it a completely worthwhile acquisition.
