Today I was a bit nostalgic and decided to explore my box of childhood memories. I came across VHS, cards, and two consoles that brightened and marked my childhood.
Hoy estaba un poco nostálgico y decidí explorar mi caja de recuerdos de la niñez. Me encontré con VHS, cartas, y dos consolas que alegraron y marcaron mi infancia.
🔹🔸 GAME BOY COLOR 🔸🔹
I am aware that this console for today's generations is very obsolete. In the last 20 or 30 years, the world of video games has improved enormously. Obviously, a console that came out 25 years ago is very old by today's standards.
Soy consciente que esta consola para las generaciones actuales es muy obsoleta. En los últimos 20 o 30 años, el mundo de los videojuegos mejoró enormemente. Obviamente, una consola que salió hace 25 años queda muy antigua para los estándares de hoy.

This console was a very important part of my childhood, without exaggeration. Thanks to it, I became a fan of Pokemon games. I still remember when I played Pokemon Crystal for the first time on the Game Boy Color. From that moment on, I fell in love with the franchise. Then I went for Pokemon Yellow, then Blue, then Silver and so I was able to fully enjoy the first two generations. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to enjoy this as a kid.
Esta consola fue una parte muy importante de mi infancia, sin exagerar. Gracias a esta, me hice fan de los juegos de pokemon. Aún me acuerdo cuando metí el Pokemon Cristal por primera vez en la Game Boy Color. Desde ese momento, me enamoré de la franquicia. Luego fui por el Pokemon amarillo, luego el azul, luego por plata y así pude disfrutar plenamente las dos primeras generaciones. Soy agradecido por haber tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar esto cuando era niño.

Something that surprised me a lot about this console is the leap in quality compared to its predecessor. Between the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance there is only 3 years difference (1998 and 2001). Personally, I found the change to be a resounding change. The design, the colors, the size of the cartridge, the colors, the capacity, everything improved greatly. To the point that it doesn't feel obsolete despite how old it is. I could put the batteries in it and play for a while without any problems.
Algo que me sorprendió muchísimo de esta consola es el salto de calidad con respecto a su predecesora. Entre la Game Boy Color y la Game Boy Advance solo hay 3 años de diferencia (1998 y 2001). En lo personal, el cambio se me hizo rotundo. El diseño, los colores, el tamaño del cartucho, los colores, la capacidad, todo mejoró en gran medida. Al punto que no se me hace obsoleta a pesar de lo vieja que es. Podría ponerle las baterías y jugar un rato sin problemas.

One of my favorite games belongs to this console. I'm talking about Pokémon Emerald. You have no idea, the hours and hours I dedicated to this game could easily be 2000. I remember spending entire afternoons sitting in the backyard of my house assembling the equipment and exploring its vast world. Without exaggeration, if I could keep only one game for the rest of my life, it would be this one, without a doubt. I still have Battlefront to beat. For those who know it well, it is one of the most difficult challenges in Pokémon.
