Although these birds are migratory, however, in some regions they remain to winter if the weather permits, namely if the winter is warm. In this case, you should not believe encyclopedias, books. Because it is individual for each region and country. I read in one encyclopedia that these birds fly away already in mid-October. And with regards to these photos, this is the beginning of April. The sun is warming, the snow is melting. And this pugnacious gentleman was looking for something to eat in the melting snow.
